Hey joker, I'm coming from a really old pair of Westone 3s and I'm looking to get something new before the cables break. I'm currently debating between the Earsonic SM2 v2 and the Rockit Sound R-50. I know these have pretty different sound signature but I was wondering if I'm coming from the W3...- winkyeye

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
Quote: I dunno if I can describe this that well without using pictures, but here I go. If you have the standard Tip/Ring/Sleeve plug (either 3.5mm tip or 6.3mm tip with 3 contacts), the right + should be the middle contact point (ring), the left + should be the tip contact point, and the...- winkyeye

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
I just cut off the cable at the beginning of the strain relief and used the extra connectors they provided with some heatshrink tube for strain relief. + wire should be cut a bit longer than the - end. The + end goes into the connector and should be soldered onto the pin that is inside the...- winkyeye

LCD-2 (especially the Rev2 Driver) or HE-500??
I just received the HE-500 today. They sound pretty good right now, without spending much time, I can only say they sound a lot like my LCD-2.1s with slightly less bass quantity/extension but the sound overall is slightly more cohesive. They are also REALLY comfortable. The only thing I'm a bit...- winkyeye

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
Hey guys when it comes to vintage receivers, is the headphone output affected by the WPC power? For example, will an 80WPC receiver have a better, more dynamic headphone out when compared to a 40WPC receiver from the same company?- winkyeye
