I agree that parts of the S4's treble are emphasized, but when I think of bright IEMs, I think of something with more of an Ety sound signature. For me, the S4's were very warm with the bass being more troublesome than the treble.   IMO, they sound great on some songs, but empty and lifeless...

I own the IE7s and did some research about fakes before I purchased mine. I seem to remember that the Y split and plug on fakes tends to be opaque grey, whereas the real ones are a translucent grey. The fakes are also missing the foam eartips.

The IE7s really are great, but I don't know how well they would work for your DJing. Their isolation is pretty poor. There are some tips that can definitely increase isolation, but I'm sure most other IEMs will be better at blocking out noise.

I was looking for IEMs with the exact same characteristics you want and narrowed it down to the Monster Turbine Pro Golds, IE7, and Klipsch Custom 3's. I ended up going with the IE7 and am very happy with how they pair with my jazz/acoustic library. They're warm/natural and have a great midrange.

Had mine about a year before I noticed it wearing off. I was mildly annoyed about it.

IE7   I listen to similar genres as you. IE7 has wonderful mids that are detailed, forward, but still relaxed and smooth. They do wonders for vocals and acoustic guitars, but it still has strong, deep bass when it's needed.

How is the ownership changing?
