    Grado Modders Go Nhoord?!?!

hello good sir !,yes they are turned inside out ! good eye. then some spandex stitched to the back to serve as an attachment mechanism to the cups leading rim.....I think they are akg 240's? or some other replacement pad. They where under $10 and are just about the right size imo.   the Foam...

    Grado Modders Go Nhoord?!?!

This is what i've got at this point. Angled driver, diy pads, and a 'central foam column ' mod. I'd recommend trying this should your particular set be dominant in that area.

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

just to chime in here with some updated sound reports from the frontlines.....I've heard 3 sets of the drivers and am enjoying them. I still need to diy fabricate some proper pads and so final impressions can only come at that point. What i've noticed is quite a nice degree of consistency...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

general categories of modding opportunity:     1) the driver to cup 'coupling' and the size and density of the front section. Basically one has the choice of sticking with the stock RS style grado cups where the pad hangs on by that little rabbet/recess and the front section is more/less the...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

I've got some of that adhesive backed bandage tape. Good idea to use it for the driver covers. it might affect the treble however. at least the variety I've got in front of me....I was using it applied to the back of driver -outer ring of vent holes....had some good affect there.   jav's cups...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

nice review fleas.....If they want to move some of these units a link to their site would help, as a google 'Elleven Acoustica Ypsilon' didn't bring anything up for me? ......hey sling how's it going!? Sounds like we got a new driver to play with! .....time to get busy fine tuning this beast eh...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

how is the midrange and vocal presentation compared to a magnum and pink driver? is it distant like a senn or up front like most grado drivers?   how is the presence/resolution balance? meaning is the upper mid 'hot' at all like grados or is it super smooth and resolved like the senn and some...

    Grado modders go Magnum

regarding arty mcgees angled plastic adapter. Keep in mind that is changing two variable in one mod so any sound difference would be hard to decipher in terms of what to attribute it to. either the plastic ring or the angle......because that mounting method is indeed a significant variable. Any...

    Grado modders go Magnum

Taken from a discussion regardind loudspeaker design and the question of whether to make the cabinet light and 'resonant' or heavy and nonresonant. The british speakers have historically been designed along the light approach and is the one that makes inherent sense to me for grado cups. i.e. to...

    Grado modders go Magnum

I'm not quite following that description for cutting angled seating........ I recall setting a drill press table at the 5-10degree point and cutting it with a hole saw. Then it went back into the lathe to clear out the inner section. It wasn't too compicated, but the angle and depth of cut had...

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

the ramp theory doesn't hold water imo...there's alot of evidence to suggest civilization did not evolve in a straight line from caveman to steve jobs but rather like a sin wav with high tech culture then wiped out and almost start over. due to great floods caused by all these forces we are...

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

so you think once the ac is in the wire, that little rubber coating is enough to shield it from all these electromagneticsolar forces? any chance the electricity is still affected by some/all of this?       the pyramid ramp/slave hypothesis, is one explanation, but if it's studied, there's...

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

what i'm wondering is if ac in a wire is still affected by gravity? and since gravity in terms of how it's distributed and 'working' at any given time is always changing, is it fair to assume this will affect that ac in the wire..and possibly the state of the sun in some small possible way may...

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

so the sun is responsible for gravity and magnestism and they are in turn responsible for energy which is then tranformed into electricity?

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

trying to figure out how we get that free energy to start this whole process is a big question...at some point we get something out of nothing right? that is from the sun right?     and is it somewhat true that ac in a wire is like lightening in the atmosphere? are these both affected by...

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

that lightening sure seems to be central to this whole thing doesn't it?  ac flows along a wire,,,unequal potential from one place to another etc....and natural forces create this situation in the sky/ground and it discharges?

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

it's getting a bit ahead of me, but....   ok so that cation anion thing is how we get the entropy the other fellow mentioned? or at least the potential for electricty?  and is it magnetism that does this work for us so at least we don't need to pay that portion of the light bill? ( we still...

what is electricity. what is that 'stuff' flowing through all our hifi gear?

sounds like electricty has got an intimate relationship with magentism doesn't it? or am i misunderstanding?

alright take a break i appreciate all your typing.....now we are getting somewhere though, ancient egypt eh!  how do you think they built those pyramids? slave labour ? what about all that precision? have you seen the quanitity and weight of those blocks !!
