  1. Schiit Jotunheim 2 (black)

I have a Schiit Jotunheim 2 for sale in excellent condition in black. It does not include a dac or phono module. I am the second owner. I've taken very good care of it and can't see any cosmetic issues with It's a great amp, but I'm not using a desktop setup any longer, so this has to go...
  2. Grado Hemp w/ balanced cable and extras

I'm selling my Grado Hemp with balanced cable mod. I didn't do the mod myself, but I believe it was done professionally. It uses a Neutrik connector. I'm the second owner, to the best of my knowledge. They are in very good cosmetic condition and sound great. This was my first pair of Grados...

iFi audio GO blu - Super small. Super light. Super Sound.

I find it plays great with my Grado Hemp from the 3.5mm input as well, with volume around 50-60%. I've also heard it does well with other Grados.

LETSHUOER S12 - Next big planar? (Impressions & Discussion)

I was looking to pick up the S12, but just saw today they released the Pro model. Can anyone confirm if the Pro is actually tuned differently? I've seen some conjecture here and elsewhere, but no hands-on comparisons. "Updated tuning" is vague, and considering how much people like these iems...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Hello. I just bought an iFi Go Blu to upgrade my FiiO UTWS3, so I'm be using these much more often. These are probably my favorite iems, and I'm excited to check them out with a better source. Today, I noticed my tips really need to be replaced. I'm currently using some large orange hybrids...

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

Focal headphones go on sale frequently, after they've been out a couple of years, on Adorama usually. Even Drop puts theirs on sale periodically.

Let us know how you like it. I think I saw that posting and thought about it for a minute but didn't want to spend that much, lol.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

What's the state of portable audio nowadays? I'm thinking about a portable dac/amp that will play nicely with my Android phone or maybe a dap. It would only need to drive the Hemp or an iem like the FiiO FH7. I was thinking of something not too expensive ($250 max) like an iFi Hip or idsd mini...

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I just bought these new pads for my Grado Hemp and I can't stop laughing. Can't see how this ends well. I should have looked up the measurements beforehand. Lmao. For reference, the small, flat pads are the Hemp's stock pads.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

It's awesome, actually. It's the best iem I've ever owned, though I'm not a huge iem guy. I have it hooked up to my home system now (Jotunheim 1 - lol - SE on low gain from my Modius). I use it with my LG phone around the house. My wfh situation is probably going to be permanent, so I haven't...

Those sound awesome, but are a bit out of price range. I'm pretty happy with the Fiio FH7 that I received recently.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I'm leaning towards the Jot 2 for this added flexibility. I have a pair of FiiO FH7 I'm checking out, and my Liquid Spark on low gain is almost too much power. Anything past 9 o'clock is too much. I don't have a portable dac or dap anymore, so I have limited options here, haha. The Hemp is...

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

Update: I'm coming around on the Grado Hemp's bass and starting to appreciate it more. At first, I felt the sub-bass wasn't hitting hard enough, but after listening to them more, it's growing on me. It might be a matter of me adjusting to its bass vs the HE560 I've been listening to for the last...

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

Yes, the cable isn't great. It's quite thick and heavy. It's fine for a desktop setup like I have, but less than ideal for transportable portable use. It's doubly bad for me because I have both a 4-pin balanced termination and an adapter. But this won't be the case for most people.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

My general recommendation if you're trying to figure out what you like is to buy used when possible, from other members with good feedback. You can get a good deal, and perhaps avoid the tax people (I'm not sure whether vat applies to second-hand goods in the EU.) If you get a good deal when you...

Has anyone tried the Denon D5200 with metal? Note, this one is newer and at least a bit different from the older D2000 and D5000 models.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

Get used, get used, get used. It'll be tough to get anything decent new and over ear at that price.
