Need DAC w/output decoupling. Advice please

Hi ROBSCIX   Well, Burson didn't really send me any schematics. They were archived and retrieving them would take "a few days" or so they say (hmpf...).   I connected the caps like this (didn't solder 'em because I wanted to make sure they work before soldering stuff to the amp):  ...

    Upgrade from DT880 2005?

I will check out the DT880 600ohm. I thought the SA5000 is more of a direct upgrade to the DT880 or am I mistaken?

    Upgrade from DT880 2005?

Hi all, My DT880 2005 are borked from falling too many times on the floor (doh). I'm interested in getting a new set of cans that have the same signature/comfort as the DT880. What is considered a step up? I have the Little Dot Mk3 with the default tubes (am also looking to upgrade the tubes...

    LD MK3 question

Can someone help me out with my LD MK3: I have finally received the amp - I have restrengthened the grip of the tubes, put both DIP switches at ON 1 (normal 5 setting, for my 250Ohm DT880) and let the amp warm up for 30mins. The music hasn't changed much and sounds *very* distorted. The...

[REVIEW] Beresford TC-7510 MKIII DAC (56k warning)

Herandu, I compared back and forth between the Beresford and the EMU 0404, there is a definate difference in soundstage. It's not a matter of detail or not, but a matter of distance, and this is something I can feel when listening to specific songs. I am still burning in the DAC.

    Little Dot MK III

Now that we are back from holiday I do have some updates on the MK line. The equivalent of the Little Dot 2++ in the MK line would be MK III ($199) or the MK II ($149), vs the $159 of the Little Dot 2++. The performance of the MK II will be fairly comparable to the Little Dot 2++, and the MK III...

Imitation DarkVoice amp circulating in local China & international market

Yeah, same as cattylink.com. Shipping starts there from $140+ for an amp. Funny that sending the same thing from here back to them via EMS costs $60.

Tube amps, worth the trouble for a noob?

Yes AV8TR, you are correct - the people in this forum are great Too bad for me, where I reside (Israel) there are barely any of these Hi-Fi meetings. I solely rely on the opinions in this forum. cotdt, could you recommend any tube amps that bode well with the DT880 (if you have listened to...

Tube amps, worth the trouble for a noob?

Hi-Finthen, gotta love head-fi... ask for amp advice and you convince me about DACs :P I'm not made out of money! How's the Beresford DAC? Been eyeing that one ($200~)...

Tube amps, worth the trouble for a noob?

I've definitely been debating with my wallet if to get the DV 336i ($330 shipped) or 332 ($430 shipped), Heed Canamp ($?) or the Corda Headfive ($210~ used)... I heard the longevity of tubes is around 2000 hours, is that correct?

    External DAC vs EMU0404 PCI

Night and day kind of difference? Currently own an EMU0404, not modded (I'm an electronics noob). If I purchase an external dac, I will need a TOS link cable to connect the EMU to the DAC, then basically the sound card will just be a clean proxy from the PC to the DAC and will be useless in...

Tube amps, worth the trouble for a noob?

I have DT880 cans, and have heard that they pair up best with tube amps... but I see that these amps are a serious headache - choosing proper tubes, tube longevity (or lack thereof), tube price, biasing, humming, microphonics, heat, warm up time... the list goes on. Is it really worth all the...

Budget Amp for DT880 (new rev)

Hiya folks, Im looking to purchase a budget amp (home use) for my DT880 (EMU 0404+FLAC for output). I would really like something that puts out excellent soundstage while giving a less bright/more bassy sound. I would like to keep the budget down to $300 (inc. shipping) (I have access to...
