    Best IEM tips?

I just got the Spinfit W1s and damn, these seem to make my Globes really sing. Really wonderful tips going by first impressions. I'm pretty stuffy with the flu, though, so I'm curious to find out if these will still sound this good when I'm better lol.

Just popping in to post that I'm still loving my Globes too. Doing a bit of tip rolling to see if I could get even more out of them. After I nail that I'm grabbing a new cable for them too, though mainly for comfort purposes.

Sorry for bumping my own post a bit, but any other recs? Magnat LZR-980 was recommended and I've already got the Meze 99Cs, if whoever sees this didn't read the previous page.

Huh. Well, now I'm curious. I'll have to see if I could get the cable second hand somewhere.

I've been listening to a lot of drum and bass and jungle and dubstep and stuff like that from the late 90s/early 00s recently, and I've been thinking that I kinda want a closed-back pair for just this kind of music. Unsurprisingly my HD58Xs aren't the best for this sort of stuff lol. You lot got...

    Best IEM tips?

Still getting used to the Sedna MAXs on my Penon Globes (got the tips yesterday) so I can't really compare them to my other tips yet, but wow, first impressions are positive indeed. I think the bass got boosted a bit too much even for me me compared to the ePro horn tips I used before, but I got...

    Best IEM tips?

Finally got around to ordering the Sedna MAX Standards too, thanks to the sudden praise on these last couple of pages. I liked their Xelastec tips quite a bit early on but thought they were too sticky? tacky? and they've kinda lost their shape pretty fast, so I'm hoping the MAXs will be equally...

Does Penon sell cables where the ear guide thing is, like, bendable (?) to fit your ears perfectly? I got rid of the unpleasant ear guides on my Globe cable a while ago and it helped with comfort for sure, but also the IEMs are so big that now they sort of droop a bit in my ears, so clearly a...

Still genuinely pretty frustrated that this is even a thing. From the impressions I've seen the T5.3 sounds like it could be a really good match for me, but yeah, the small cups absolutely kill it for me. I simply can't stand headphones that don't have enough space for the ears. It's a dang...

Grabbed my Globes and Qudelix 5k and went to lie on a deck chair on my balcony, did absolutely nothing but listen to music and watch the clouds drift by for over an hour and the time just flew by Absolute ****ing bliss I don't know why I even got up and came back inside. Think I'll go make...

Could I get a picture of the Globes and the Volts side-by-side? Would be interested to know if they're differently shaped or sized or if they're more or less identical on that front.

Interesting! Nice to know I'll have a pretty easy upgrade path later on if I feel the need to try something a bit more expensive. That's a big if, though. Still getting used to them, but the Globes are definitely sounding pretty damn good right now.

Huh, interesting to see the Globe and the Volt have very similar squigglies going by tgx78's squiggly database. Basically identical below ~1.5kHz. Out of curiosity, has anyone here gone from the Globes to the Volt and felt like it was a pretty direct upgrade? I'm very obviously not in the market...

That is some high praise @cqtek, your review speaks directly to my soul. Saw the Orb comparison and now I'm very happy I decided to go with the Globes instead, they sound more like my thing than the Orbs going by your impressions. You're making the wait for my Globes pretty darn hard! And...

Hah, that's an interesting tweak. How do yall even figure this kinda stuff out? Tried it with my existing ePros and Honeydews and they sound quite good for sure, though it's hard to say how different from non-inverted since unfortunately the ePros are juuust a bit too big for the Honeydews--they...

    Best IEM tips?

I'm interested in giving those hybrid tips a try that sort of combine silicon and foam tips, where... I guess there's foam inside the silicon tip or something? I want to see if I can get better isolation out of my Honeydews--the sound great with the silicon tips I've got, but they don't really...

Does the AKG K371 do a good job with isolation? Talking about muting outside sounds specifically, don't care about the music leaking outside. Been a hot summer so I just want something that blocks the traffic noises and such coming in from the open windows when I'm listening to music or gaming...

    Best IEM tips?

The (large) spring tips seemed to have fixed this pretty well! Still occasionally get the effect when putting them on, but they seem to sort of.. fix themselves automatically if I just wait a bit. Feel very nice to wear, watched Severance on my iPad for a few hours yesterday with these and had...

Yeah, "thickness" of the sound and bass aren't really 1:1 in my opinion--or at least, it's not how I have perceived it. The 99 Classics for example are very bassy, but overall they sound kind of thin, or hollow to me. I'm guessing it has something to do with "note weight", saw Crinacle talk...

I doubt anyone would find offense in that, it's a very subjective hobby so it's important to hear as many impressions as you can if you can't audition the thing yourself (like I can't, in this case). Thanks for posting your thoughts! At this point I think I'll probably just grab a pair of...

I wish I could, but I'm also looking. I've got the Campfire Audio Honeydews right now which I can get to sound pretty wonderfully thick and "big", but that's with a Qudelix 5k and EQ. Would not necessarily get this set. Currently looking at getting either the Penon Orb or the Mangird Tea 2...

Got my Chu. Mainly ordered a pair to get the spring tips and maybe quickly give what's supposed to be a truly "neutral" IEM a try, expecting to hate it since I like a good amount of warmth and thickness, but they don't sound too bad, actually. Highly doubt they're going to be in the active...
