    Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

Reminds me of the FLC8. Looks good.

    The discovery thread!

I agree. They are very competent in all areas. Soundstage is good, though they have an outstanding ability to seperate instruments. Very coherent sounding, maybe only lacking in some treble extention. For 5-10$? Unbeatable.

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread

I remember reading somewhere that the FLC8s used a TWFK. Is the new BA-Driver proprietary?

@Flcforrestwei can you provide a frequency response or any comparision between the FLC8S and FLC8d/n? Just to get an idea on how the tonality has changed, if at all?

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread

For those waiting for the FLC8N release. They are now available on Penon. https://penonaudio.com/flc-8n.html Personally, gonna sit those out. Waiting for the FLC9. Seems like the thread gets to breathe again after all the idle talk.

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

Not to spoil anything, but these are going to be big. In more than one way.

Another quesiton for Forrest. Judging by the pictures, it does seem like the newer FLC8n/d have slighly thicker shells. Have you made these changes to improve on isolation? 1 Dynamic Driver + 4 Balanced Armatures, afaik.

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread

Just to make sure we are on the same page: Increase in SPL at high frequencies. Because I thought less high frequency attenuation translates to less overall SPL. Seems like I just misused the word attenuation. That's why I use numbers more than anything, lost in translation I suppose...

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread

I'm more asking myself about difference in silicone tips. Foam vs. Silcone is pretty self-explenatory. Same with the Triflanges. I'm just talking about single flange. You said that, in your experience, the larger the bore the more high-frequency attenuation you get. My question is, if this is...

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread

Well, I always need the biggest size available (LL with the Sony's). Just try them with every available eartip in your collection. Yeah, the measurements are fairly consistent to what I've seen with other sources. What was your reference insertion-depth in that case? Can you make an assessment...

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread

Indeed, this is something very subjective. Individual anatomy, insertion-angle, just too many factors playing into it. The graph is interesting, especially the "anomaly" at 10kHz, mind telling me your set-up? Most set-ups are just not accurate beyond 10k (or even earlier), e.g. Veritas.

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread

In my experience, increasing bore size decreases treble response. Also, I hate Spinfits with all of my life, it really screws with the tonality, plus getting a proper seal with them was always very difficult for me. Symbio's are "generic" eartips with 3M 1100 Foam Ear Plugs (or some other...

Pardon, "To make a accurate assumption of the frequency response and subsequent tonality of the King Pro". Yes, if the Axis is "linear" (I forgot the terminology here) like going from 1 to 2 to 3, or 3 to 6 to 9, or log1 to log0 to log-1, etc.. But there have been instances where the scaling...

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread

Yes, that is exactly my point. The projection and its amplitude changes. Hence, it manipulates the graph to possibly look more/less U, V, etc.-shaped. Wasn't this the whole point of it? To make an accurate assumption of the frequency response and subsequent tonality?

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread

Yes, that's how a function is projected on a Cartesian coordinate system. "If I showed you an FR graph for any major headphone even without scale", but if I were to change that scale or the ratio of the Y-Axis the entire projection would flatten or elevate. It changes your outlook of the graph...

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread

Not really. You'd assume that the respective axes (X and Y) are linear, which often is not the case, particularly with Chinese manufacturers. Frequency response is not really a good indicator without a reference. Even when measuring the same earphones, there is lots of variance to account for.

Meh, not really JH. Really looks like Honda though: Finally a practical shape. Really don't care about the logo or colour-scheme. As long as it sounds good, and has good isolation.

Looks very similar, indeed. Same shape, same Knowles driver for lows.

    Acoustic Research AR-E10/AR-E100

249$? That is reasonable. I really adorned the E10 back when I auditioned them at the Munich Highend. Have there been any changes in tonality? Specs seems to be identical.

Rose Technology Discussion & Impressions Thread

Of course you can. Although, that doesn't mean its something you should do. Adding more drivers doesn't just work in such a way, mostly because you have to consider electronic paradigms. Just look at the Impedance and Sensitivity. This also negates any "same drivers, but more = same tonality"...

WFBK x3 + Sonion 2600 x3? That would be absolutely not the case. Neither does this make any sense with implementation, nor with the "much better control and details" department. Where did you get that info, if I may ask? The pictures certainly tell a different story.

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)

Used on ebay. Only once used. There was also a deal for 280ish, but that seemed a bit too much from what I've read here.
