The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)

This is without a doubt my favourite post I have read in a long while. Apart from sharing a lot of headphone history, even more I can relate to the satisfaction of sitting down with the blessing of the other half. My best advice is that you will know which way to go when you go through the...

Not too sure, seems that iems have gone to the AliExpress crew or the super expensive. I've since moved more to the full size can side of life :-)

It's good to see you back @DJScope, not much happening in this neck of the woods since you've been gone!

Would I be able to hear the difference?

I have greatly enjoyed using old receivers with the senns (650 in my case). My 2c would be to be slow with your equipment upgrades and enjoy each stage. There are few audio magic bullets of sonic perfection so I am finding the enjoyment of the journey toward what I like or even trying...

    AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk

Truly beautiful. One thing I re-learnt in this latest experience is that one of the great delights in a new headphone is going through your music and letting the headphone highlight it's strengths (something I greatly missed while trying to demo some headphones in store). Listening this...

Official Sony WF-1000XM3 Thread - Noise Cancelling True Wireless Earphones

I have found that I get both a better seal and better grip making my own diy mandarins on my favourite tips. I used a leather punch to cut the hole in the foam earplug and can now turn an already good fit into a great fit

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...

Well, first time posting in this thread. Enjoying my gear so much at the moment I had to share... I have now raised the canton ergo 21's a little above the screen and working on some of the corner resonance, fine tuning my setup. Amp is an old JVC JR-S300. Working late tonight listening to...

    Sennheiser HD250 Linear Impressions Micro-Thread

Just had to come back here as I am having a magical evening listening to Dream Theatre, Systematic Chaos. I am astounded how these cans surround you with the sound, keeping things feeling open yet distinct. I haven't enjoyed listening to Portnoy drum this much and had the whole mix sound this...

    The discovery thread!

@mbwilson111 I am so sorry for your loss. I am speechless for you. I greatly enjoy all that you bring to this community and hope we can be here for you in at least a small way in this awful time.

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread

I have the Shure 1540 alcantara pads on mine and it brings things into line nicely along with being a bit deeper and more comfortable to me. Also, in case anyone else has the same issue, I found that when I walked they made an awful bouncing noise. I took the band apart and moved the headband...

    AKG N700NC Wireless Over-Ear

Thanks mate, Appreciate it. They are really good, especially for the price you can pick them up at the moment. Are you based in Sydney too?

    AKG N700NC Wireless Over-Ear

I am enjoying these immensely having just picked up the mk2's for $150 aud. I have been fiddling with the settings but can't work out, can you listen via Bluetooth with anc off? Also, does the mk2 still do the calibration of you hold down the button next to the power or is that now automatic...

    Sennheiser HD250 Linear Impressions Micro-Thread

Yeah, pretty insane finds on gumtree here in Sydney. Both of them were in really good nick except for headband and pads on the hd580.

    Sennheiser HD250 Linear Impressions Micro-Thread

Well, just picked one of these up today. Looks like everything is still in pretty great condition. Sound is pretty special and Agnes Obel was amazing even sitting on the bus with the general roar in the background. I look forward to running a few side by side comparisons with my srh1520...

[Official] Sennheiser HD 660 S Australian review tour

They have arrived!!! Unboxing is what you would hope for in this level of headphone, not the most luxurious but solid all round, kinda like the headphones themselves... Listening out of the box is a generally nice experience, slightly tighter on my head than I wouldn't prefer but still comfy.

    Sony MDR-1A - Sony's latest update on the 1R

I couldn't agree more. Given the comments on comfort I have these the last chance for cans as I have found every pair so far eventually has too much discomfort to enjoy in the end. What I have found is a really enjoyable sound and supreme comfort. The first pair I can leave on all day without...
