Reply to review by 'tomscy2000' on item 'Noble Audio Katana'
@proedros If the NT6 (demo) and Katana (universal) are to be compared, the Katana would be slightly less bright in the upper treble, leading to a little more perceived bass (because of less brightness up top). The two will have similar levels of midrange presence and detail. The NT6 is indeed...- tomscy2000

Reply to review by 'tomscy2000' on item 'DUNU DN-2000J'
@landroni, the 2000J and the 846 are two very different beasts. The 846 was revolutionary for BA-based IEMs in that it had a great woofer design; however, a BA is still a BA, and it does exhibit more distortion overall (if you can hear it; I've trained myself to do so, but normally, people...- tomscy2000

@ozkan sorry to hear about your fit troubles; I have to wear them over-ear to get a good fit. The ER4 has a better overall fit, definitely. However, the MK5 has a far better fit range than the MC5.- tomscy2000

Impressive considering the price. However, it's hard to find good earbuds that sound great and look good too. Only the MX985 comes to mind, but they're not cheap, and lately I find the Celsus Sound Gramo One to sound pretty decent (though I prefer the prototype's sound) and looks okay (not...- tomscy2000

If it looks like an Ety, quacks like an Ety... They look just like the EtyKids, but in grey, and only in grey. One shade of grey. I'm not going to go into detail about the way Etymotic earphones work --- you have to insert deeply (up to the second bend of your ear canal, where you'll...- tomscy2000

Reply to review by 'tomscy2000' on item 'Resonessence Labs Concero HP'
It's compelling reasoning, isn't it? Most of the measurements of the AK120 come off a DScope III, so there may be differences between it and the AP SYS2722 that Resonessence uses, but the general consensus is that the SYS2722 is the benchmark for audio test equipment. Resonessence doesn't seem...- tomscy2000

The output impedance shouldn't be a huge issue, honestly. It'd be nice to have something <1 ohm, but 2 ohm isn't a deal breaker. Quoting impedance at 1 kHz isn't going to tell anyone much about the overall impedance curve of multi-driver IEMs. I would start to worry if the impedance of the...- tomscy2000
