If you want a bass reference set, no one does it better than EE. LX is tried and true with surprising technicalities elsewhere.

Makes sense. A lot of planar stuff seems to perform better when the back is open.

Do they leak sound? Based on pictures it seems they have a vented back.

That’s what I said. It’s the shell material that conducts the sound into your ears. If your ear makes contact with the shell elsewhere, You’ll perceive more vibration.

This is what I suspected. He got taken for a ride because of his lack of knowledge about the product. That’s a huge issue.
