Altiat CAL.1H — Official Discussion & Impressions Thread

Just wanted to thank everyone for a very memorable CanJam, we are going back home empty handed as each and every one of our Demo and Display units were sold out. We managed to take photos with all our customers except one who was in a rush for a meeting. Just like every CanJam, everyone from...

Altiat CAL.1H — Official Discussion & Impressions Thread

Just an update - We will be exhibiting at CanJam Singapore. Will be great to be back for some CanJam after our last time in LA. It has been a tough last couple of years, feels good to have some normalcy back with CanJam resuming back. Thanks again! Hope to see some members there! Aumkar

Apart from the remarkably smart DSP capping the %THD below 1% regardless of Amplitude and the impressive sub-bass response, I still find the APM to sound like an NC closed, albeit the most impressive implementation yet. Back to your question regarding substituting it for what we on Head-Fi are...

@ehjie @voja You can mount whatever Earpad you'd like if you wanted to. A member had put STAX 007 pads a while ago and another member had Vesper Audio make custom pads for him.

I learnt recently from reading on another thread that @Geezer Rock 001 sadly passed away. Randy and I talked only very briefly but, since we have a tightly knit customer base it was very sad to hear the news. Rest in peace Randy and I will never forget your appreciation towards us. - Aumkar

Sounds like you're clipping out, especially given the range of the potentiometer. It comes down to relative SPL preference of the listener but also down to the track. With complex passages containing a lot of LF information, Electrostatic drivers will clip out without proper supply to the...

You can plug into the Normal Bias with decreased sensitivity. The D/S gap is for 580V. I suggest the SRM with PRO and Normal both as that's quite useful for vintage STAX as well. I used to use it for my SR-1, SR-5, Sigma and NB Lambdas. Although, don't get the time anymore. I could be wrong...

I had tried the iESL last year at CanJam SoCal. It was not at CanJam but at a private event after the show ended, I was not in the position to really assemble my thoughts as I was engaged socially. Just a disclaimer. I didn't particularly like the iESL, it didn't seem to power the Headphones...

Currently our country is under lockdown for the entire month and we have received a letter from DHL that non-essential shipments will not resume for a long time. So, I don't know. Don't place any orders on our website. @Edmond Dantes Yes, there is. Wishing everybody good health.
