    Rosson Rad-0 alternative suggestions

Looking at theses description it seems your issue lies with the way the headphone's imaging, stage width and separation/layering/space between each instruments. I've had a very brief experience with Rad 0 so I can't comment on these aspect of the headphone. You can consider the ZMF Verite...

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Rockna and Bifrost 2 are r2r. We all get things that best suit our needs and use cases. I ended up getting the Verite a couple of years back after weeks of back and forth with the d8k pro. I did went back after a few years to try various sources but unfortunately it just did not click. It's a...

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone

I mentioned modding only as a means I took to fine tune and tweak a certain headphone to my liking and I agree that there are synergy to be found between different source and driver combination. I responded to @audiocroissant comment on the sibilant and thought I share my experience with this...

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Part of the enjoyment I get from forums like these is reading the experiences of others but I never took any of them beyond simply opinions and experiences. With the exception of one or two boutique amps where the experiences are all via word of mouth, I never based my purchases solely on...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

The DNA Starlett would've been the ideal candidate but the build time does make you think twice about getting it. I'd say it's worth the wait as it is a stellar product and very reasonably priced considering the performance you'd get.

    Rockna Wavedream DAC

I used USB and it sounds perfectly fine. From what I've read this has some of the finest USB implementation of any dac out right now.

    ZMF Verite Open

I've recently started listening to my VO again after months of listening to the Atrium. Decided to breakout the stock universe pads I've kept in storage for the past few years since I preferred the tuning of the BE2 and Verite pads and boy was it a treat. I'm instantly reminded of the layering...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

All 3 headphones fall under the warm/dark signature and are not really tuned for analyzing music as they all have a slight boost in lower frequency. Out of those 3 the Atrium probably best fit your criteria imo. The VO and VC have a mild dip in it's midrange as compared to the Atrium and based...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

Pretty sure most on this thread will prefer the Atrium and the VO and VC thread will prefer the others respectively. These are very different headphones and generally perform well across all genres so it depends. What is your sound preference?

ZMF Verite Closed-New Closed Back ZMF Flagship.

Daps are primarily designed for iems uses so it's probably a good call to forego that. If the old nano and micro black label are anything to go by, the Diablo will be at the top of my list for transportable amp. I've heard great things about the Diablo with the hd650 and based on my experience...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

Starlett is a fantastic amp. It has a very pleasant tone that synergizes well with Atrium. Certain amps brings out the bass on Atrium and focuses on it's ability to slam, further accentuating it's dynamic nature. The Starlett reigns in the Atrium a tad, instead focusing on it's midrange...

    Rockna Wavedream DAC

@hifixman not doubting your credentials mate. This is a very subjective hobby so don't be dejected just because seemingly no one agree with your observation. It's a highly dynamic dac which can borderline on intense for some people so while I don't share your sentiment I can still understand...

    Focal Utopia General Discussion

While it is uncertain when Focal is going to release a new flagship, it is almost certain the new headphone is likely not going to have an exact same sound signature as the Utopia. Think hd600/650/660-800, LCD2-3-4-5, Stax 007-009-009s-x9000 etc. If you like what you're hearing your that should...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

Beautiful set probably my favorite of the bunch. Having own a Ziricote for a few years, I much prefer the look and feel of matte finish on these and the cherry's over the glossier finishes. I have a feeling this will age better and last longer.

SS amp with big 3d soundstage

Unfortunately I've very little experience with current high end ss amps and none of them fits that description. I don't normally look for sound stage in headphones and the only amp that even made me notice an increase in stage width is a DHT amp from Eddie Current. Only one amp has made me think...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

Amazing stuff. Not sure how they gone under my radar for so many years. Fitting with the Atrium thread, they sound amazing on them. The way Atrium renders drums and bass texture is astonishing. Anesthetize is just 18 minutes of pure ecstasy to my ears.

Cayin HA-300MK2 (2022) TOTL Transformer coupled Direct Heated Triode Tube HeadAmp (Page 91)

Unfortunately that is often not up to us. Unless you're in a location where there's a lot of audio shop or know a hobbyist who have the specific gear you're interested in, chances are you're going in blind. Headphone recommendation: Meze Empyrean and Focal Utopia

The Utopia works great. I used it quite a bit for rock and find it exceptional for that genre. Bass is tight and palpable. But I've since deferred role that to my ZMF Atrium as I find it even more enjoyable for rock with even more bass so I'd actually recommend that over the Utopia if you can...

Introducing Lina: A new dCS system, purpose built for headphone listeners

Again not looking to upgrade just wanted to know your opinions on these dacs since you've mentioned. Part of the fun is reading about and listening to a variety of gears. No sane person will ever thought to upgrade anything in this price range without comparing first hand.

Introducing Lina: A new dCS system, purpose built for headphone listeners

Not looking to upgrade. Just received info that my local agent has gotten the Lina stack, specifically the dac and the clock in and I was wondering how that would stack up against my Wavedream Signature. How would you rate the Wavedream against DCS, Weiss, Emm Labs and Linn's offering?

Absolute best amp for hd6xx hd650 and its other sibling

    DNA Stellaris

Thanks for the quick response. It looks like the housing got replaced with some 3d printed unit and that leaves out the option to diy. That is a great dac. I'm using a Signature SE with my DNA and EC amp and find it's a bit overkill for a headphone setup imo but definitely one of the best dacs...
