    Hifiman Ananda

The Susvara doesn't have more slam, the Arya has a more peaky treble than the Ananda. For more slam, you should look at eqing the lower end. Edit - A bit more on Susvara , Ananda. The Susvara is more balanced around 1 to 6khz than the Ananda and Arya. Arya peakiness is grating, particularly...

I'm after cables. I like the look of the Kimber Axios. The wood and weaving are at a stunning level. Are there any other suggestions, for cables with that quality of workmanship?

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

I tested all the units with all cables I have. Skyaudio cables, Original Hifiman, Sennheiser and a cheap AliExpress cables. All gave me the same result in terms of maximum output at clipping. Yeah, the Diablo is awesome but low impedance and low sensitivity is a torture test for amplifiers...

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

3.5mm would be the way to go with those. 17 Ohm , 107dB mW sensitivity. You'd get 126dB SPL and not run into any issues.

    Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet

Thanks, I'm space limited. Area that I have for an amp is 480mm x 390mm x 100mm. Based on their manuals, the V590 and Topping A90 are the only 2 locally available units, I could find that fit within those dimensions and are able to produce 15V continous output or more.

I plan on getting the V590 for my Susvara. Are there any issues to consider before?

[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes (FW1.0.4 Updates at 2022-06-29)

ifi spec is maximum, not continous. HUGE difference, I've measured the Diablo in 33 Ohm continous in Turbo Single Ended is around 7.6V ( Realistically it outputs 1.75 W ) Nowhere near 5 Watts for continous. If the FiiO M17 can produce continous 6.19V @ 32 Ohms, that would be 1.2W or 30dB above...

A Vote About the Headphone Jack Position of Bluetooth DAC/Amps

Top is more convenient but would prefer anything that will increase battery. Wouldn't that also lengthen the body by at least 5mm? I'm fine with slightly bigger but just curious?

    HiFiMan Susvara

Solderdude's Susvara measurement is a typo , I had a chat with him a few weeks back, as I was certain they measured 80dB mW, which he confirmed. The Susvara I know of actually measured 60 Ohm @ 79.2dB mW, so 120dB SPL is 448mA / 26.87V / 12W. I have mine set at 95 dB SPL @ 1khz 0dB FS usually...

I got mine locally in Australia. It had a really strong smell as well, resin or cheap glue. Still hasn't fully cleared but alot better.

Sbaf, head-fi are also considered " cults " by some. Perhaps even rightfully as they all tribal in their thinking. I am on all 3 though, as they all offer something unique and I appreciate that. Sbaf are the modders, headfi offers great user experience for problem solving or finding out about...

    HiFiMan Susvara

There's no indication on the packaging, so no way of knowing which one you will get. I bought my Susvara a month back. Got the 2.5mm connection. If someone with a 3.5mm termination can chime in, regarding any indication on that packaging. Would be helpful for you.

    HiFiMan Susvara

His YouTube channel is ridiculously informative if you want a breakdown on the engineering aspect and how things work. It's great that he shares his knowledge as easily, and openly as he does. Highly qualified with the experience to back it up.

I find it to be overkill. SE gives alot more granularity. Out of 4.4mm in Eco mode 10 o clock - 90db 1 o clock - 113db. Single ended in Eco 10 o clock - 81db 1 o clock - 103db On my unit channel imbalance ends after 9 o clock ( around what would be 9:30 )

I have the Diablo and xcan. There's no difference to me with the Ananda, if I volume match them to any reasonable listening volume. Xbass, 3D and Presence filters, are the big difference

The pads compress over time, will contour more to your face which will change the frequency response and the resonance area. The HD650 changes noticeably with pad compression.

    Sony IER-M9 impressions thread

The M9 is all I need. It's the perfect iem tuning to my ear. I've heard so many iem and there was always some niggle i had with. Tia Trio - the weird lower mids scoop Legend X - hated the over emphasized bass Valkyrie - The 4k overshoot was too much U12T - Was stunning but didn't have the...

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

I have heard both ER2XR and ER4XR/SR . Preference went to 2XR because of it's dynamic driver, it was to my taste in the sub bass region. Both are excellent and the 2XR/SR is unbelievably good value at it's msrp, imo.

Amir testing is deeper than most, but yes there are people like Crinacle and Andrew. Amir not recommending a product doesn't make it bad subjectively. It simply is his approach from an engineering perspective. Andrew is probably the most agreeable to most people who straddle the line between...
