Audeze LCD-2.2 PF
Selling my nicest 2.2PF because I have a few and I'd rather not put miles on the nicest of them. Only thing this is missing is the original measurement card. Has the box, the case, the protective bags, the leather conditioner kit and cloths, and the balanced and SE cables, and the 3.5mm adapter...- ISOLordByron

Stax SRM T1W
A Stax SRM-T1W in decent condition, in fully working order with brand new NOS tubes. This is a Japanese voltage version, and I believe it can be changed internally, but I just use it with an external stepdown with no issues. See pictures for cosmetic condition. Definitely open to trades and...- ISOLordByron

Zmfestivus II Meet Impressions
Not at the meet, but I have in the past. Empyrean isn't terribly demanding and the Atom is sonically a really kick-ass little amp. Sounds good together, much better than you'd expect. -
Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A
I've run them off of the amp I mentioned above which is a class A and 210wpc @ 8 ohms with 0.007% THD. I'm also using; Victor ML-10, Technics SE-A3, Benchmark AHB2. On all of these it's very very bright, and has distortion in the low frequencies that's louder than the fundamental. It's up to...- ISOLordByron

Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A
I just got these in tonight, and I have to admit, I'm kind of scratching my head. K1000 still handily outperforms them to my ears, much more enjoyable. But what a treat to have these both on my desk! Running them both off of my modified Mitsubishi DA-A10DC.- ISOLordByron

Little Dot MK 9 - Has anyone tried it?
I've had a wonderful experience with this little amp. With only some mild modifications, I got it to handle 6336A and 6528 tubes and produce massively more power than advertised. I use it as my day-to-day amp for my K1000's, and I think it performs wonderfully. Stock, it did just fine with...- ISOLordByron

ZMFestivus II: October 5th, 2019
Well just as a little extra boost to hype, my updated gear list will for headphones will include (so long as shipping from Italy and Iceland are on time, they should be!); A fully restored AKG K1000 Bass Neutral just finished by our own Heinz Renner himself A Sony MDR-F1 Yamaha YH-5M in...- ISOLordByron

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I haven’t, but I have run a Ragnarok 1 with Veracity ST’s and all I can say is damn, I was impressed. Schiit gear and Raal ribbons have some sort of magical synergy... Despite being a much noisier and lower bias setup for headphones, the Ragnarok 2 really does a lot better with speakers so I...- ISOLordByron

ZMFestivus II: October 5th, 2019
I heard an early prototype of the Raal SR1A as it’s being called now, being driven by Benchmark AHB2’s, and it blew me away. Having heard pretty much everything, this falls second place only to the Plasmasonic for all setups I’ve heard. Quite incredible. Maybe we can beg Alex or Dan over at Raal...- ISOLordByron

Warwick Acoustics announce The APERIO - To be launched at Munich-High End
Reading about this, I'm extremely interested. The main issue's I had with the Model One's design was that it was a single ended driver design. Judging by their limited available design documentation and marketing blurbs, this is both a dual stator/electrode design and even perhaps a balanced...- ISOLordByron

Stax SR-x MK3 Does Anyone Know These?
http://www.staxusa.com/parts/ear-pads/stax-sr-x-earpad.html I wouldn't recommend selling them at the moment, the price is pretty low on them, usually around or below $500 for them with the converter box.- ISOLordByron

Stax SR-x MK3 Does Anyone Know These?
A lot of the earlier Stax have issues with channel imbalance. Check for dust buildup, these headphones are very sensitive to dust, being electroSTATIC, but remember to be careful cleaning them, these membranes are only a matter of single-digit microns thick. Also, replace the ear pads, a slight...- ISOLordByron

Lotoo PAW 5000 now available from Hifiheadphones.co.uk
Is that blurb about 2.5mm headphone connectivity a typo? I thought 2.5mm was for Cellphones in the mid-2000's, or is that a European thing?- ISOLordByron

Confused: Vinyl(Analog) vs Digital
Analog recordings, played on analog media, is better, yes, as no number of bits of data can compare to a living wave. But, at this point even, I think digital quality is well beyond what human perception can pick up. Analog usually, due to the gear itself, generally has a "Warmer" tone to it...- ISOLordByron

DT990 Pro Impressions Thread
I have a pair of the Premium 250 Ohm versions (Same driver design, just a little less clamping force and a little heavier, with the Aluminum and Steel in the construction), that I use with my Sony TC-Kx Tape Decks, and they sound absolutely amazing direct through the output for those. For the...- ISOLordByron
