I'm still trying to find some time to go to CA to get calibrated. Every time it looks golden something turns up and I can't go. Sigh. Anyway, I ordered a Yamaha RX-V1065 AVR. That should do the trick.

Woot! My Realiser is on the mend and they're just waiting for a part. And the best part is even though the damage was due to clumsiness, it's a no charge fix. Again, I say woot! And I can't wait as I have a few new Blus sitting here waiting to be watched.

The funny thing is that since I'm the clumsy one I figured I'd be the one to damage it first. Since my friend did it, I had to laugh a bit at that.

Well it finally happened. I had the IR transmitter plugged in for charging which of course sticks out of the front of the unit. A friend of mine tripped and whacked the IR transmitter with her leg as she stumbled into the entertainment center. Now the transmitter will not charge. Sent it back to...

Older as in old movies or older as in old transfers? I have a copy of "A Christmas Carol" on Bluray sitting here. Maybe I should see how loud it is. It's from 1953 which would make it an old movie however they did an all new transfer for this release. Alistair Sim FTW

I have the Stax amp plugged in directly to the Realiser and I find the volume to be good. I have the knob on the Stax amp turned up one pip past halfway.

Slightly OT but I just wanted to mention the outstanding service I got from Lorr when it came to replacing the remote. He asked me to try a few things none of which worked, then he said he'd put a new one in the mail when he got back to the office. Got the new remote in three days tops. Luckily...

Lorr just messaged me. Not everyone got an SD card. It was bonus item. I got the reader as a bonus item. A few people got both. Not a huge deal.

Well it's here now. I should probably go out an buy an SD card. Maybe this weekend. Is the factory PRIR built into the unit? EDIT: looks like the sensor won't attach anywhere to the top of my TV. Where's my hacksaw?

Looks like the Realiser will arrive today. It's going to suck just having it sit there until I get some calibrations installed. I downloaded the manual late last night. Haven't had a chance to read it.

How do you calibrate IEM's? Don't you have to have the microphones and the headphones on for the headphone calibration? EDIT: Nevermind. I forgot you have the A8 off for that.

Good find, dsperber. I will pick up a copy of the October WSR. I have also emailed Lorr just now about getting a calibration at the Egpytian. I'm not waiting until December. The heck with that

Just out of curiosity how long does it take to do a room calibration? It sounds like it should take only a few minutes.
