Hi guys I am in shanghai at the moment and have been told that yulong a18 is no longer in production n is obsolete? !?!?! I am assuming it will be superceded by a new model? I am looking for an amplifier to go with my mdac and hd800 that I have.... any suggestions?

In terms of value wise, I see a much bigger upgrade going from mstage to the audiolab rather than upgrading from my akg q701 to hd800.

They are but mdac is built as a DAC and not as a pure amp which the mstage is. I thought the mstage amp bebe atleast as good but with a different colouration? But then does it matter with the DAC in the mstage as I am using the mstage purely purely as an amp?or am I missing something?

You're welcome Chris. I bought it because I had the impression that mstage dedicated amp is slightly better than the mdac from reading on the forums. Apparently not...

does this mean i bought the wrong version of the matrix mstage 0_0....   I was pretty disappointed with my hpa2. I thought it would help with the sound but anyway... i asked my friend to tried both and he too found the mdac to sound better :(  .....

Hey Nexigen,   I was in the same shoes as you. Been there done it....   I got the new matrix mstage hpa2 along with a mdac.   for me just get the audiolab mdac and you will be satisfied :D   no need to beat around the bush if you have the money :D   see my impression of it in another...

Hi icebrain,   For your budget i would strongly suggest e17 as well.   I have been through your position not too long ago as well. :D   for the e17 you can use it as a portable dac as well :D
