    ER4-S and amp

Can anyone comment on how well the ER4-S works with amplification? I recently drove them with a stronger source and noticed possible driver "crackling" during demanding segments of different kinds of music... Should a proper DAC/AMP be able to drive these without any sign of stress well above...

Hah sorry, I think I had one beer too many: I thought I had read 800 ohms! Ok makes total sense...

Fantastic job blin, I wont bother humiliating myself by showing pictures of mine! I have white heat-shrink tubing coming in the mail as well by 3M to match with the apple harness. Just curious though: did you just pick those resistance values arbitrarily or was there calculation involved...

I actually have aftermarket plugs coming in the mail from lunashops, but it is taking way too long for them to get here and I didn't think I would ever have a use for the ER4P cable so I just cut them and used the existing plugs/braided cable with the resistors simply in line (they are super...

Finally soldered up my ER4 using an apple "earpods" wire harness with in line remote/mic and the 100ohm resistors (ER4S). Don't tell my girlfriend, but I think I am in love. I personally did not like the stock cable all that much and absolutely needed the in line remote + mic. These are AMAZING...

Thanks ClieOS Patent #5,887,070 Section 5 describes figure 5: audio source > ------(Parallel Junction 1)--(resistor 1)-----(capacitor a)--(Parallel Junction 2)------- > to headphones (larger pole) (To Parallel Junction 1)-------------(resistor 2)-------------(To Parallel Junction 2)...

Ok thanks. Can you tell me where I could buy connectors for the stock ER4 connection? As well as your recommended 100ohm resistor for this application? I have extensive experience soldering and might attempt making a cable using an apple earpod cable... Thanks, Z

All good points and I agree. I still feel the need to bring them to the gym. Personally I can't stand mediocre sound quality even if I am simply working out. Another thing that bothers me is having to use several sets of iem's. I have se215's and absolutely hate them. Does anyone know if using...

Seeing as you are quite the industrious ER4 fan, is this something you could custom make? Thanks for the info btw I really appreciate it. Z

Thanks for the input ClieOS. Fiio i1 seems interesting, but I would like to have the mic/control inline close to my mouth along one of earphone segments of the cable so I can take calls. without having to hold anything up to my mouth. Something along the lines of the stock apple earpods... Any...
