Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Apologies, but I did not get much luck with a search of this thread. Has anyone had any experience with the Hifima Aryas and the Woo Audio WA6 SE? I had been listening to Hifiman HE500 but that was a few years ago and looking for a new pair of headphones. The Arya sounded great with a solid...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Yep, I ponied up to play this game as I had no way to try on the HE-500 before buying them.  Relied on the 30 day guarantee instead.  Plus the shipping back to China would have been cheaper for me since I live in Hong Kong.   Quote:

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

The LCD2 just feel a lot bigger - pads are bigger, thicker, cups are bigger.  The HE500 felt more secure on and maybe that is why they felt more comfortable because I did not have to compensate as much to keep them on.  502g vs 550g is 10% difference which is a lot for someone coming from K240DF...

    LCD-2 (especially the Rev2 Driver) or HE-500??

Quote: I would say that I have a below to average sized noggin - 7 1/8 (USA) hat size - and the HE500 were more comfortable.  The pads on the LCD2 and the overall headphones were huge.  My friend who goes about 300 lb with a huge mellon prefer the LCD's fit better.  He says the HE500...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

The LCD2 and HE500 are really quite similar in my opinion.  I don't know but my hearing memory is so short that anything but BTB listening sessions with the same song will not pinpoint any differences between these two.  I really don't listen to music to analyst it in any detail.  If the...

HE-500 sound great with Woo WA6SE.  Very balanced, solid sound.  But the leakage is a lot more than expected.  I find them much more comfortable than the LCD-2.  I wore the LCD-2 for 2 hours and that was it, my neck got sore.  `    For some reason I was not that enamoured with the LCD-2.  It...

    Amp recommendations for HiFiMAN HE-500

I'm about to buy a pair of HE-500 to be used with a WA6-SE.  Hope that combination will sound better than the LCD-2 with WA6-SE which didn't wow me enough to want to buy them.  Where I am, the only way to audition is to buy and then return if no likey.  Sucks I know. Impossible to compare T1...

REVIEW SUMMARY: A ranking of 32 tube and tube/hybrid headphone amps

Quote: I read it that way as well.  What confused me was the overlap between the 5 and 6.  So 5-30 were very close while 1-6 were much great variance.

Does that mean you can re-rank your list of tube amps to include the two new additions?  Like to hear your imprssions.   Quote:

Thanks for the suggestion.  Not sure what you mean by shield connection.  The HDMI that I am using is the std cable with some kind of fuse in the middle.  Will check on internet for better cables.    As for disabling the ground pin, can't do it as I am using UK style plugs.  I did notice the...

Thanks for taking the time to answer.  My HDMI Audio has always been off and secondary audio off as well.  The HDMI doesn't even need to be plugged into TV for hum to occur, it just has to touch the HDMI socket on the TV.  I also tried without HDMI and with component video to TV and still hum...
