Matmod custom earpad guide for Grado/Alessandro headphones
Permalink is down, how ironic. Nice guide though, gonna try making my own just now as I lost one of my original pads pushing through a crowd at a festival and can't be arsed paying 200 SEK (40$) for a new pair.- Wolham

I have to disagree with you, bcasey. Though I bought the 109$, i-version. I find that while the bass is present, of course, the headphones are very lacking in bass; the bass is not loud, and absolutely not booming. And I like booming bass. Gives the music a little extra punchieness. Also, I find...- Wolham

**** YEAH at Gama Bomb. It's like thrash + speed metal, on crack. With King Diamond screams. Awesome overload. Which leads me to a recent discovery I made, Heathen Foray. They sound sort of like Amon Amarth, but with more folk influences and with a lot more melodic guitars, almost power... -

Really? I must've been very tired when I did my Dethklok Season 2 Marathon. I'll never forget the part of season two where they go to the secret lab they have underground, and look at all the cool stuff. Laser stringed guitars, dildo safety helmets, music recorded on water later used to water... -

Quote: **** man, only watched first and second season of metalocalypse, that sounds nothing like the Dethklok I remember O__O Here follows one of my favourite death metal bands, my absolute favourite if just considering ordinary, plain modern death metal (no progressive, no... -

True, both Swashbuckel and Alestorm are heavy metal pirates, that sail across the sky, in battleships of cosmis steel and spreading terror up on high. Trogdor, "Brütal Legend" was all I could think too. XD Freaking awesome. My contribution, kind of new Amon Amarth music video. -
Metal Recommendations?
I think DiB is quite good, but not as good as Sons of Northern Darkness, At The Heart of Winter or Diabolical Fullmon Mysticism. Pure Holocaust is one of those album which I keep telling myself I should stop neglect but never give time to listen to, so I can't really rate it. XD -

Quote: Swashbuckle and Alestorm ain't quite the same thing. @Chris: Rum is a good song, but it haven't got that extra special thing that makes it superb and perfect, unlike, lets say "famous ol' spiced", etc etc. And what do you mean, Leviathan intro, Leviathan is on another album? I... -
Metal Recommendations?
Quote: No, I never said Damned in Black was perfect, nor pure holocaust. However, Damned in Black was a record which had some memorable parts, like "wrath from above" and the title song. I'm not saying a record must have memorable songs to be good, but it certainly helps, especially... -

I am very well aware of that some music takes time to get to. However, the reason I stopped listening to All Shall Fall wasn't because no songs stuck on my head, it was because I listened to it several times over until all the songs bored me, and during that period not a single song managed to... -

TROGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR I really have no favourite album from this year as nearly all new releases nowadays disappoint me. Like "Back Through Time" by Alestorm, while it's funny and some of the covers are good it is honestly a rather horrible album. Though I could... -
Metal Recommendations?
Quote: You're not the only one who're sick of the crappy metalcore. :D Speaking of the latest Immortal album, I found it to be just like most releases this past year. Good sound (it felt like black metal), good tone (it sounded like black metal), good sound quality (it had the... -
Well recorded metal?
I'll have to disagree with you guys, saying that Nile is not a good band. While utilizing the same elements as many other bands, Nile brings on a completely different feeling, touch or even soul in their music. Just like I always thought Behemoth where one of few death metal bands bringing the... -
Best for death/folk/thrash metal? MS1i, SR80i or Senn Equivalent?
I'll have to retract my earlier statement, listening to my old cans again to compare I realized that sure, my old cans had way better base, but they sound unsharp and muddy. After doing this comparison I actually became quite more satisfied with my headphones. I still agree on the no body thing...- Wolham

Best for death/folk/thrash metal? MS1i, SR80i or Senn Equivalent?
You say that the competition has moved forward. But what is then then the new "best", or how I should phrase it? That was somewhat my initial question in this thread, or at least part of the initial point, but noone seemed to want to answer that. Also, how much difference can modifying the...- Wolham
