Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
That's the "modern" Wisconsin way and is easier. The original way is to start them on the grill (from raw) and keep hot (to serve) in a pan with a medium sauted (near caramelized) onion, can of beer, and 1 oz of butter in equal proportions (use the butter to caramelize the onions.) Also, serve...- webstaa

If you put the SD card in a reader and it doesn't show up in windows explorer, try Disk Management or AOMEI, or even the SD card formatting utility. I've had a few microSD cards that have been corrupted in devices (not my iPods) and needed to be completely repartitioned/formatted before...- webstaa

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Interesting, and fits with what I've experienced. I worked a few months for a company that used "advanced 3D printing" for prototyping and mold/tooling construction. It was faster for the parts designers to knock out a prototype part for the customers in country, then send the documentation...- webstaa

The Euro models are volume capped, but AFAIK that's not an issue if you use rockbox. Mine were always plenty loud - enough that full volume is noticeably distorted on 5g and 5.5g ones - I usually max it out to about 90-95% volume for headphones and lower depending on the IEM.- webstaa

There might (should) be a little circuit board where the battery cable is attached to the battery, just be gentle and re-tape the yellow (kapton) tape to make sure nothing gets shorted out.- webstaa

It might be a plan, but you'll be bound to keep it in a case forever then. Might be a dealbreaker for some, but not for others etc.- webstaa

No worries, I use the apple firmware on my car iPod (5.5g) as well, although my 7g has themed which looks close, but not identical to the 5.5g's look.- webstaa

Rockbox USB transfer can have issues with speed and file corruption. Boot back into the original OS to transfer files faster and more reliably. iPods are far slower than USB 2 speeds, but faster than USB 1.- webstaa

I can honestly say I've never run into this particular issue then. It does sound like iTunes is the problem - especially because they're not playing properly in iTunes. I've never had issues with gapless playback either - although I primarily use MediaMonkey these days, as iTunes seems to...- webstaa

There hasn't been a ipod firmware update in eons, so it's unlikely that it's a firmware update issue, unless you just updated the iPod. Typically, the opposite is the issue, in shuffle mode, the subsequent regular order track will play for a second before switching to the actual next track in...- webstaa

As far as batteries go, the listings on Aliexpress for larger size ipod ready batteries have dried up as well. I assume the supply is drying up as demand continues to fall.- webstaa

If it worked afterwords, then it's not likely that the fast charger did any damage outside the USB controller, which is (possibly) why iTunes didn't recognize it thereafter. If the USB controller is damaged, it might not be recognizable by the computer, but whatever damage was done might have...- webstaa

The Firewire charging pins (12-30v) are different from the USB (5v) pins. If you dump 30v 1A across the USB charging pins, you're likely to overload the circuitry and destroy it. If the 12v 2A charger is decent quality (built to spec and not just dumping the full current into the device) and...- webstaa
