Tube Testing Question- matching variance distinguishes Pass/Fail values
Sorry if this is not the right Forum for this question but I am not seeing anything specifically for tubes. When matching triodes in a power tube (6AS7 for insistence), what is the variance between the triode 1 & 2 that distinguishes Pass/Fail. Is this a fixed number or percentage of minimum...- WDC

Advice/Help testing 7236 tubes, TV10D/U
While testing some tubes today I ran into a problem testing a couple 7236 tubes (Cetron, Sylvania). I had the tester set for 6AS7 thinking this was the class of the 7236. Both tubes read out at 200-300 on the GM meter, unlike the 5000-5800 for other tubes marked 6AS7G (Min 1800). Not wanting to...- WDC

Woo Audio ID & serial number date code
Thanks for that. Woo Audio did get right back to me confirming it is a WA3. Funny they did it with a photo of the amp and not the SN. One would think that the model and year would be coded into the SN. That said this was a very early unit and could be pre-coding.- WDC

Woo Audio ID & serial number date code
Does anyone know if the Model & Date Code is incorporated into the Woo serial number (SN. 04111015). I purchased this headphone amp very early on 2004-6 when Woo Audio was offering them on eBay. Frankly, I've lost track of the date and model number of the unit and was hoping to be able to...- WDC

Point-to-point versus PCB circuitry
When building and mono block tube amplifier is there an advantage in using the point-to-point Teflon coated wire circuitry over a printed circuit boards. Do you lose quality of sound when using a printed circuit board over point-to-point wiring? I read a lot of discussion about Teflon coated...- WDC
