OK, sounds like we are on the same page. You said 99% of black metal is poorly recorded earlier which is what had me confused.

I have to disagree. If someone in the studio intentionally nails the sound on a raw recording, it's still poor? I would say if they were going for one sound and came out with another, that would be a poor result.

Do you think that with black metal/death metal they are possibly going for a specific sound? Calling it a poor recording because it doesn't sound like Fear Factory is a bit silly.
