    Bicycle-Fi!

I'd post a pic of my YT Jeffsy 29" but it's in the shop waiting for a new bottom bracket. Mountain biking seems to combine a few things I really love - riding, coffee and beer!

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!

For some reason, I can't see the pics. I have a couple Glashutte Originals. For some reason, I connect to their aesthetic and love that they're made in-house. The whole fine watch thing seems in direct contrast to the disposable nature of things today. Although lately, I've just been wearing my...

    IEM for gym

Hi all. I'm looking for a pair of in-ear monitors for the gym. I'd like a good pair - one that sounds great since I seem to listen to music at the gym and in my car more and more. They should be durable, isolate sound without active sound cancelation (I so hate the music they play at the gym)...

    coffee-fi

to me, coffee is the nectar of the gods! love picking out the beans, roasting them and, most importantly, drinking it. right now, my favorite for drip is Ethiopian dry processed yirgacheffes. also some wonderful harrars. very fruit forward with a wine-like complexity. I know what sounded like a...

    don't have privileges to sell/trade

Hi all. I was looking to post about a pair of headphones I'm interested in trading but noticed I was unable to post because I don't have privileges in the 'Sell/trade' forum. I guess you have to have a certain number of posts - I've posted a question and gone back and forth with a couple...

    cans for classical

Thanks for the suggestion. They look like very high quality IEMs. The challenge of headphones (for me, at least) is finding a way to listen without buying. I guess that's why the used forum is so active...

    cans for classical

I will say that the mad dogs do sound better to me when a touch louder. I'm a casual headphone listener - so I'm very used to hearing music through speakers (unless I'm working out - then it's not classical). Thanks.

    cans for classical

Thanks for your ideas. I'll definitely give them a listen. I love the stye of Grados, but I am leaning to the IEMs just because I'm doing a home renovations and for six months I don't have a private listening place.

    cans for classical

I'm not sure I can pinpoint any problems. I just don't get that 'wow' feeling I used to get with headphones. And although they're very comfortable, my ears get hot. And yes, they do seem very hard to drive. I bought a headphone amp but even then it needs to be cranked up a bit. So I'm starting...

    cans for classical

Thanks. That was very helpful. I've never listen to AKGs but think I'd like the open back headphones more than my closed Mr. Speakers.

    cans for classical

Sorry for being vague. I'm thinking of spending $600 each. Might start with one and if that scratches the itch, stop there. At least for a while. Thanks.
