Introducing Shanling SCD1.3 - New SACD player

I often feel like I've inadvertently stepped into an apartment complex committee meeting when reading these threads.

DX260 Digital Audio Player, a New avenue to your music. Preorders have started. Easily replaceable battery. NEW Firmware Update! 2.02

I normally don't like challenging anyone else's opinions, because I believe they're all valid, but in instances like this it seems the technical specifications are being focussed on to a degree that they become the sole purpose, and we lose touch with reality. Who wouldn’t want the latest CPU...

DX260 Digital Audio Player, a New avenue to your music. Preorders have started. Easily replaceable battery. NEW Firmware Update! 2.02

What are you guys planning on running on a DAP? CAD? Video editing? For anything I can think of that would come under typical usage on an audio player, the limitations of this SoC are nowhere close to being exceeded. The fact it runs Android smoothly and without issue is surely all that matters...

A master DAC killer, SMSL SU-X

Could have gone one further and called it the SMSL SU-X ESS.

Genius! Now you can swap out your tinnitus-y ones as a bonus. If only they partnered with Kinera and bring together a pair of ears that moisturize human beings, your ear maintenance is taken care of forever:

I thought Mellianus was your girlfriend and the extra 0.8mm transformed the "ehhh" to an "oh yehhh". I guess going from an L to an LL also has the same effect :stuck_out_tongue:

I've found the cure to keeping control over desires for the latest and greatest; I simply pretend it's 2013 and I'm at the pinnacle. In all seriousness, though, no doubt they have been far surpassed in the decade since their launch, but these venerable relics still manage to surprise me...

New Member, advice request, dap help

Welcome, @over50 (great username, by the way). I own an iBasso DX170 and my father has the DX320 which I borrow frequently. Both have more than enough power to drive your headphones. I would say go with the DX240, while this is the only one I haven't had hands on time with, it's within your...

Sold on eBay. I am, rather begrudgingly, letting my Dangerous Music Source go. Ever since the arrival of my little girl 20 months ago I can count the number of hours spent at my stationary listening environment in the 10's of hours. DAPs are now my present and future, ergo, this sale. It's...

    HiBy R8 II - HiBy's New High-End DAP

@Poganin that's cool, too. Luckily for you, you have the choice of literally almost every other DAP:stuck_out_tongue: For those of us that do want something different, though, it's nice to finally be presented with some viable options.

    HiBy R8 II - HiBy's New High-End DAP

Personally, I love the Alcantara back. I don't use my DAPs with cases and having the back covered in a soft material will make it much friendlier when putting it down on hard surfaces. This is HiBy's finest looking device to me, even topping the R6 Pro II, which was already a work of art and a...

The way I see it, there will always exist items at the extreme ends of the price scale. The reality is that the people who can afford these to begin with, generally, have wealth enough to be unaffected by economic swings. No matter how much we might find the rising prices distateful, it's not a...
