    Focal Utopia General Discussion

I own the OG Utopia and the Stellia. While the Utopia is the superior headphone of the two, the Stellia is my preferred choice for metal and rock. If you ever have the chance I suggest trying the Stellia out.

Focal Stellia Review, Measurements, Interview - Head-Fi TV

I’m sure it’s also amp dependent. Running my Stellia through my TA-ZH1ES I get a slightly ”cleaner” presentation when using the 4 pin XLR output over single ended. Surprising though, my Utopia sounds almost the same in balanced vs single ended FWIW.

    Hum issue with Millet MiniMax

I purchased my Millet MiniMax from Whiplash Audio about a month or so ago and it has been a great little amp. Recently I dug out my SACD player from storage and started using it again and I am noticing a low frequency hum that I didn't notice when using the amp with my other player(Music Hall CD...

MS2i with comfy pad of MS1i

I don't know about using comfies but flat pads were a big improvement to my MS2i. The flat pads really tame the highs and bass is much better.

    Grado Amp -Yes/No

You don't need an amp to run Grado's because they are pretty efficient but that doesn't mean they won't benefit from using one.

I was wondering if any of you standard WA6 owners use Grado RS1's and think they synergize well? I'm looking for a new amp but I'm not quite ready to move up into the price range of a WA6SE at the moment. I'm on the fence about ordering a new Mapletree amp or trying a Woo amp. My Mapletree Ear+...

How to shop for CDs the audiophile way?

When I was younger in the 1980's I had a lot of CD's that were first pressings and I remember they sounded fantastic! Through the years I lost or ruined most of them and I re-bought some of those same albums but in remastered form. The remastered albums I bought sounded nothing like the original...
