Question about DACs - Are they really worth the high price tags?
When picture drinks, e.g. a good red wine, there are many good ones out there which differ in many ways. There are some that suit many dishes and you don't have to think too much about how you enjoy them, just open the bottle and enjoy, that's the Sennheiser. But then there are some wines which...- Waldschrat

New Member Introductions thread
Even though I don't know what you mean by IED I suppose you mean the K845s. The source isn't as important with bt phones,as long as the files or the stream is Good quality the quality of the cans will be the most important. So to make it short the kind of player, be it phone, DAP or something...- Waldschrat

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)
With IEMs the sound is clearer, more dynamic with a bigger soundstage and I hear no noise anymore. With your Fostex phones I can only guess, soI had a quick look at the specs of the Fostex, and the impedance is not really high but they seem not really efficient. Considering the effect i...- Waldschrat

Absolute best open cans for $150-160?
That's a tricky Question, personally I don't think going full out from the start is the right thing to do. Audio gear is somewhat like wine, you have to educate your perception to experience the differences between cans/wines. If your only wine was always the standard bottle from the department...- Waldschrat

Absolute best open cans for $150-160?
From What I read the K612 are as power hungry as their K/Q7.. brothers. So from the experience with my Q701 I would strongly recommend getting an amp for them, and then they're not in your budget anymore. With 250 Ohm of impedance I would consider the DT990s as hard to drive too, but I have noch...- Waldschrat

Explain the DACs and the amps?
For me, the main reason to get a DAC/Amp combo was to get the audio hardware out of my Laptop. Even though the MacBooks have decent Audio hardware built in, it suffers from the electrical interferences you find in any PC/Laptop/Mac or whatsoever. When you get the DAC and Amp out of the computer...- Waldschrat

So, then I'm going to abuse this thread for my introduction, too To be honest it's a little bit intimidating to become an active member, everywhere you look people with a plethora of awesome headphones, and oneself just owning some basic stuff ^^ But I'm going to try anyway! For a long time...- Waldschrat

Q701 impressions thread
I really hope, the squeaking won't become worse withe mine. They're new yet already quite "squeaky", until now it's my only real complaint, even the Headband isn't uncomfortable for me.- Waldschrat

Next Headphones
I would suggest looking at some reviews about the AKG K845bt, I really like their sound and they're my go to phones for commuting. I don't know about your drumming though.- Waldschrat
