    Turntable to headphone amp combos

I just "fell" into vinyl and I'm looking for a good combination for my setup. Here's what I have so far: AR-XA turntable ASL MG Head DT Outlaw interconnects So I know I need a phono pre-amp and perhaps new analog interconnects since its an analog source. So here are my questions: 1)...

    best cans with D-25S, unamped?

why not spring for ER6s? if not, alessandro ms1s have been getting rave reviews...both are acceptable straight out of a CD player. I have the HD580s and while they sound good from an unamped source (computer, cd player, etc) it is extremely dark compared to an amp.

Short review of the classic X-Canv2 and Mg-Head DT debate

the xcan v2 had stock tubes (and was warmed up roughly 17 hours ) while the mg head had been rolled....forget what exactly but ill check. the xcan v2 is very unique, for sure. it is in no ways a bad amp, and i think it beats out all other amps in its price range hands down (260$ BRAND NEW!!!)

Short review of the classic X-Canv2 and Mg-Head DT debate

After sampling both for a couple days and A-Bing them, there are definite differences and qualities that are good and bad. This review was done using Sennheiser HD-580s, which are supposed to shine on both amps. I listen to pretty much everything, but am not a big fan of country and metal. Since...

Thee Almighty Questions [For Sennheiser HD600 owners]

i STRONGLY recommend the X-Can v2....it is extremely easy to upgrade (all u need is a x-psu) and while many say that tube-rolling is the way to go, i think (and i kno a lot of people agree with me) that the stock tubes are fine. It certainly shines with classical and jazz....there is no doubt...

Pioneer DV-444 On the way-supposed budget goodness

i concur with ai0tron....i got the dv-343 a few weeks ago and it is sooooo good. the sound improved DRASTICALLY, more than i ever possibly imagined. it was good stuff. i would pretty much describe the change the way ai0tron did with his 444. but i have to disagree with what ai0tron said about...

Another Guy With His Experiences Of X-Cans And 580's !!

I guess for different people the X-Cans sounds...different. Every single audio device is like that. Personally, when I first got the X-Can v2, it simply sounded clearer compared to my Yamaha reciever. However, after warming it up and running a bit of music into it, I was suprised with the...

    $14 KSC 50

u've pretty much gone thru the same experience as all of us. The cheapest place now is undoubtedly headroom....you mite want to comb thru circuit citys as you pass by them, however. there was news earlier that they are trying to get rid of the 35s to make room for the 50s. ask them to check the...

    Headphones for an iMP-350

i think the cosmetics between the 50s and 35s will always lead to some argument..like how some think the grados look retro while i think they look like **** anyways, i dont think there is a HUGE sonic difference...i would be more concerned for the build quality of the 50s...that cord sucks...
