Same here! Pretty excited to hear my Eikon!

I don't know about the Padauk, but Zach uploaded a picture of an aged Cherry Omni somewhere on this thread so you can get an idea of how Cherry will change over time.   Edit: I found it!  it's on page 19, post #271.

I'll be using a Garage1217 Project Ember 2 with either a RCA 12au7 (the default) or a pair of 6j5(g/gt)'s.

You hit it on the head for me: I like the way both look, but the Cherry is $100 less (and I love the way it looks aged).

OK.  I jumped in on the Cherry Eikon.  Easily the most expensive headphone I've ever bought.  I'm very excited and a little nervous.

Can't say for sure, but all the current ZMF headphones let you choose between a 5.5' and 10' cable with your choice of termination, so I would guess that similar options would be available for the Atticus and Eikon.

Well, you'll get more input options from the Schiit setup, so if you want to use it with anything other than a computer, that pretty much beats out the Element by default. Unfortunately, I haven't heard either setup, so I can't comment on the audio quality specifically. I was in the same boat...

If you have soldering skills, you can get a Project Ember II from Garage1217 for $300. It's a hybrid amp and can power pretty much anything you want to throw at it. I can only speak about the Ember personally, but Garage1217 has several tube amps on their site for less than that.

I'm totally with you. I think we will eventually get to the point where wireless is for all intents and purposes just as good as wired. Unfortunately that day isn't today nor will it be 6 months from now, which is the point I was trying to convey.

Lossless data transmission over wireless only really solves a small part of the wire chain. You still need a DAC to convert that data to an analog signal and an amplifier to power that signal to listenable levels. These things can obviously be integrated into the headphones themselves, but then...

Really interested to see how these turn out.  Been thinking about getting some ZMF headphones (figuring out which one was already hard enough).
