Oh, that must have happened about 10 years ago. I sold the PS1000 back then because I still like the sound of the GS1000i better. It's also much lighter and was more comfortable for me to wear. The GS1000i has my Grado sound! So much so that I was recently able to order a (possibly last)...

The opportunity arose by chance: I had put my PS1000 with around 500 operating hours up for sale. Then a prospective buyer came to me and wanted to try out my PS1000. At the same time, he had a brand-new pair in its original packaging from an online retailer, so we were able to compare the two...

I have had the chance to compare a PS1000 with around 500 hours on and brand new one with 0 hours each other. The difference in sound was immense. Especially in bass and groundtone...

I can not say that the GS1000i is on the muffled side. In direct comparison with the GH2 and RS2e, which I also owned, for me the GS1000i had much more treble energy and transparency than the both others. I heard them with McIntosh MCD 500 / C22 / MC 225 and B-Tech Speaker Control Box.

GS 1000 and GS1000i have much more treble, transparency and stage than the GH2. I do not know the RS1X. But you can find a ranking of sound of the older modells here...

The GH2 is a wonderful sounding Grado. The older series have much more of treble. It depends on your system what is best for you. I like the GS1000i because it has very much basspunch for a Grado and also nice midrange, treble and stage.

The GS 1000 was sold from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, the GS 1000i arrived, which had thicker cables. In terms of sound, the two differ in that the GS 1000 has a brighter and more spacious sound, while the GS 1000i has significantly more foundation and a much more present midrange, but not quite as...

A question for those who know the old Grados: I'm quite enthusiastic about my GS1000i, which still has the more pronounced treble than the e- and X-series. It also has a pretty massive bass for a Grado. Now I'm wondering whether a The White model would be a good addition to my GS1000i? The...

Thank you, the cable is fine and so is the source. Nothing conspicuous can be seen on the driver grille. The only thing left to do is the Grado service and a driver replacement.

Last night, unfortunately, the right driver on my beloved GS1000i failed. There doesn't seem to be a loose connection on the cable. Does anyone know what could be the reason for this and whether this is a common problem with the GS1000i? Thanks and best regards

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

Since the topic of connecting low impedance headphones to speaker amplifiers has been on my mind for years, because I have always wondered if this combination is really ideal, or if it does result in an impedance mismatch and thus a loss of sound, I recently received the following response from...

I have also been able to get very good results with my low impedance headphones Grado GS 1000i, Ultrasone Signature Master and even Meze Elite (all have 32 ohms) and it sounds fantastic even with tube amps. I have read that connecting a 32 ohm headphone to an 8 ohm speaker terminal is ideal and...
