Sony MDR-R10 Owner's Club
Well, we had at least 4-5 cases in the workshop, one of drivers was destroyed with single-ended to balanced adapters. I will try to find some photos of what happened to the voice coils - overheating and destruction. All of them were not R10, but it does not matter since R10 has a fairly regular...- Vesperaudio

Yes, the foam matter, and not only the type, but the heigth and sealing. We had open cell foam in earlier sets, aiming to bass-light, but ended with the more dense closed type one. And I would not say it is easy to replace the foam(smaller one), it is rather complicated. You need to create a...- Vesperaudio

Yep, there is some uneventy here caused by two details - only 3 screws (4 or more would be much better) and the metal plates that are very thin, and (to be honest) have some curvature, different from exemplar to examplar. So the fine tuning is ok. One more evidence that each R10 is...- Vesperaudio

The idea is rather simple - the pad includes the plastic base that grips to the metal base of the headphones. The sealing gasket and detachable mesh are also a part of the construction. The hardest part was over a 50 iterations to achieve sufficient grip and at the same time relative...- Vesperaudio

Sony CD3000 Thread
One of the most the excentriс CD3000 projects ever. Of course rather questionable, but still so attractive. Cracks fixing brackets are hidden under the leather. Real alligator leather, chevreau leather, alcantara and lexus white pearl paintjob.- Vesperaudio

Just wanted to inform the club that, at the request of several owners, I've developed a removable padmod for the majestic R10 - no need to glue the pads and swapping for different types is a lot of fun. Unfortunately crafting takes months at the moment, but if interested and there's no rush feel...- Vesperaudio

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
Both hobby and profession) You have to own a veeery wide head to make the pads compress that much (to feel the plastic contour pressing against the face). Regular issue is when the earshell is reaching the driver grill inside the pad. But sony(xm5) is not the case, at least not the frequant...- Vesperaudio

S2 cream or black - no difference in materials. Sony's pads go deeper inside the housing, so the overall thickness is almost identical to B&W. There is an option of crafting custom pads for px7s2 utilizing any material - real leather, alcantara, different foams, etc.(pm me in needed)- Vesperaudio
