Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 - Surprised
Just got a cheap used Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 that I'm running out of an old uDac. For the price this system is pretty respectable. Beats the old Yamaha receiver and Pioneers that I was running and takes up way less space. For low to moderate sound levels in a near field environment this is...- VanCitySound

Forgot Cans, what to buy at Airport help!
Forgot my headphones at home. Music is EDM and Dancehall. Don't normally use IEMs but these are both just $20. They have JVC FX40 and Phillips SHE3595. Which one should I get? Thanks- VanCitySound

Oh no... near field system chewing up my listening time!
There is something liberating about not having something strapped to your head and being physically tethered to your desk. There is also something better about feeling the vibrations of the lows and hearing both channels with each ear as opposed to just one in each ear. Also, to be blunt, I...- VanCitySound

Oh no... near field system chewing up my listening time!
I just put together a near field rig for my computer from odds and ends that I had lying about. It sounds pretty good for a couple of harmon/kardon speakers, small sub and old amp. I haven’t listened to my headphones in 2 weeks.... that’s several thousands of dollars that's just collecting...- VanCitySound

Review by 'VanCitySound' on item 'Yamaha PRO 500'
I was looking for a cheap and cheerful, fun sounding closed can for listening at my computer at work and some limited portable use. I typically listen to EDM in this setting and had been using the Shure 840s. Although a great headphone the 840’s did not have the low end horse power or staging...- VanCitySound

Looking for input on AKG K702
They are great cans and IMHO. You would be very hard pressed to do better for under a grand. The soundstage and clarity is world class. In fact, to my ears, they rival they HD800s in this regard- VanCitySound
