Good Headphones for traveling on a budget....
You'll want some In-Ears IMO, best isolation and SQ for the price. Closed headphones can isolate, but decent ones cost at the very least a couple of fingers, sometimes even an arm and a leg. I like the ME-Elec A151's, but it's been a while since I looked into the options, there might be...- Tunblor

Best Headphones for mid range price?
Headphone light-weight weighing in here. I have just started to get acquainted with my new pair of Sennheisser HD25-II-i headphones (AU$200), and while the comfort is something to get used to (very sore ears after 2 hours yesterday, only slightly sore after 2 hours this morning; clamping...- Tunblor

* Help: Best Inexpensive Tube (or SS?) Amp for AKG K702 *
I think you should buy a Pre-built Objective 2 Amp; $150-170 (depending on your choice of transformer) from JDS Labs. I've been ecstatic with mine, but if you find that it's garbage, you're only out a small amount of money, and the demand for these is such that they hold their value well...- Tunblor

E7 + E9 Inconsistently crackling in Windows 7
Small Update: I have greatly reduced the frequency of the problem, by changing to Foobar 2000 as my media player. I have no idea why this works, perhaps a different software utilization of the dodgy drivers or services. Either way, I thought I'd share in case it could be of use to someone...- Tunblor

Amp for IEM??
The E9 is terrible for IEMs - 44 ohm output impedance on the 1/8" headphone output, 10 ohms on the 1/4"...(highest impedance on the jack that would be used for IEMs?! Madness!). I think they did this to reduce the volume experienced by IEM's, but it's a terrible solution to a minor issue. ...- Tunblor

E7 + E9 Inconsistently crackling in Windows 7
Thanks for your suggestion, MLE. As noted in my initial post, I have made sure the E7 was docked properly, tried wiggling it around (and all it did was make me feel like I was weakening the connection and pins by stressing them). I haven't had any missing or unbalanced channel issues...- Tunblor

E7 + E9 Inconsistently crackling in Windows 7
Thanks for the suggestion Zhenya; just tried it now and it seemed to help, until I changed track and the crackling returned. :( Currently looking into using a Macbook Pro as the source, I'll post my results when I'm done. EDIT: Just as I suspected: the Macbook was clean as a whistle...- Tunblor

Questions about the Fiio E7/E9 combo
Hey DeathDomokun, I also have the HD650 and E7+E9 combo, and I can say that it drives these headphones exceptionally well. I do have an issue that I think is unrelated to the headphones, though. This could be a problem with the E7-E9 being incompatible with my laptop or Windows 7, or it...- Tunblor

E7 + E9 Inconsistently crackling in Windows 7
Thanks for your reply Trotoir! Perhaps we can compare notes... Does this issue effect you on Windows 7, or with other sources/computers too? Does pausing and resuming playback, or fiddling with software volume relieve the issue for you as well? Another point I failed to mention, I...- Tunblor

Amp for Denon AH-D2000
I think the very low Impedance of the D2000's mean the dampening and frequency response will be greatly compromised by any source with an output impedance greater than around 3 ohms. This means compromised Bass performance, and an overall frequency response graph for the sonic output of...- Tunblor

E7 + E9 Inconsistently crackling in Windows 7
Hi guys, I've done a lot of searching of the forums, and crackling with these two seems to be a relatively common issue (compared to other issues), however my problem has some differences that I think have eliminated the solutions I have found. My problem is that listening to my...- Tunblor

Fake Sennheiser HD650-> are there any ?
I bought mine from that very auction and seller: they are from the Hong Kong Sennheiser dealer, made in Ireland, sound fantastic. The silver box has a holofoil sennheiser sticker, Serial number sticker and Warranty card sticker. The seller also provides the 2 year warranty, and I found that it...- Tunblor
