Reducing noise isolation for the Sennheiser IE800 IEMs to NRR 31 dB
Fantastic review bpfiguer. Thanks! I have a pair of the ie800s purchased and waiting their arrival here in San Diego. Being aware of a potential microsonic problem I figured I would use my Belton Ultimate 10's on the Sennheisers like I have done with my ie-400s when I want to block out all...- Trebbleclef

Best classical recordings...ever!
As to the 60CD RCA Living Stereo Set Vol. 1 check out Charles Munch and the Boston Symphony performing Saint-Seans Organ Symphony #3. Recorded in !959 it's a sonic blockbuster and sets the standard for the performance. Another to check-out are Respighi's Pines of Rome and Fountains of Rome...- Trebbleclef

Hifiman HE-6 vs Audeze LCD-3
I guess these underpowered headphone amps need all the warm up they can get. After all the have a heavy load to lift with these inefficient planar magnetic headphones. For speaker amps it's just "another walk in the park".- Trebbleclef

Hifiman HE-6 vs Audeze LCD-3
Happy Camper You are absolutely correct. I made this comment on Amazon regarding the HE-6. Don't fight this exquisite "beast" with one hand tied behind your back. Think stereo integrated amplifiers and receivers. There are lots on the market such as Yamaha, Marantz, NAD, Cambridge...- Trebbleclef

4 Pin XLR Extension Cable
You may have to have it made. You can google or bing 4-pin XLR plug and view the male and female plugs assortments. Some styles appears to be the same as used on the cables by HIFIMAN for its HE-6 headphone and the HE-Adaptor. I have also come across people on this site who will make custom... -
Can the HiFiMAN HE-Adapter be used on e.g. HE.500 headphones?
I received a pair of HIFIMAN's HE-6 headphones yesterday and they play beautifully through my NAD 375BEE DAC Stereo Integrated Amplifier. Should get better with burn-in. I also have the HD 800s. With volume mute, at the 6:30AM position low but listenable voulume at around 8AM, pleasent volume...- Trebbleclef

Speaker amps for headphones
Thanks guys, I know it was all in good fun ,especially the sarcasm. I have to say though I was blow away when I saw that the EF-6 HIFIMAN headphone amp's listed price was exactly the same as the listed price of the NAD C375BEE DAC Stereo Integrated Amplifier. Both list for $1599...- Trebbleclef

Speaker amps for headphones
Sorry, I would rather be listening to the equipment I paid for rather than reinvention. For me the time is better spent in the "art" of listening to the electron arrangements we call music.- Trebbleclef

Speaker amps for headphones
I have listened to my Sennheiser HD-800 for more that a year using the headphone jack on my NAD C375BEE DAC as well as a couple of Yahama R-S700 receivers and have fantastic results on these units. I have to adjust the volume setting lower with the NAD unit given it's wattage output. In a...- Trebbleclef

Amp Suggestions for HiFiMAN HE-6...
I have an HE-6 on order which will arrive early this week. I'm going to use my NAD Stereo Integrated Amp (C375 BEE DAC) with continuous power at 150 amps/channel and expect great things. Already have used it on my Senn HD800s and they sound terrific. Also have a couple of Yamaha R-S700s and...- Trebbleclef

HiFiMAN RE-400 Review
I am listening through them now to Gerschwin's Concerto in F on my MacBook Pro. Also through Ipod Classic 160GB earlier. Both terrific. Plenty of power for lows and highs. Right up there with my HD 800s through my NAD 375DAC. Not o much in terms of soundstage. The most incredible musical...- Trebbleclef
