So I own a pair of DT880/600s, and I have up to $400 to spend on an amp. After spending sufficient time with the DT880s, I have realized that a flat, analytical sound is not what I'm after. Kinda wanna see what the whole fuss is about with tubes.    Can you guys describe the difference...

Tried mine with and without the mesh, still found the treble metallic and unnatural.

Thanks, tinyman. Its weird to see that the closed back headphone is the less bassy one, I'd assume it to be the other way around, but I guess that's the tuning oppo was going for..     Any chance you can compare the He400s to the DT880?

I'm looking to power my 600 ohm dt880s.    This one showed up on the local craigslist for $150.   What's the amp like? Is it any good? How would it compare to the schiit magni 2, for instance?
