If you have an iPhone 6 don't bother with a DAP. I have the Mojo amd DX200 and while they sound great out of both I prefer the iPhone 6 to the Mojo and feel the DX200 doesn't offer any great improvement over the smartphone to warrant the expenditure.

The beauty of this is that you can pick up a DAP like DX90 or Fiio X5 for a reasonable price knowing that you're going to get 98% of the SE846 performance. They may be a bit picky with regards to output impedance but they don't need loads of power or a top class DAC to sound great. On a budget...

I'm inclined to agree. When I had one it replaced an iBasso DX90 and I was initially smitten with the UI and battery life. It sounds okay but is not in the same league as Mojo and some of the other DAPs I've owned since. As well as being incompetent with harder to drive cans it is a hiss monster...

Could anyone tell me what kind of Comply tips fit these earphones? Had them a few weeks now and have been enjoying them immensely, but I split the grey tips that came packaged and can't get a good seal with Spinfits.

Do you like Athena? If you're not that struck on the signature, and if it's not so great with the Sony ZX2, then the best cable in the world probably won't make all that much difference. Remember what the oracles of Head-Fi say about cables being the last link in the chain.

Get a Mojo instead man. Amazing with EE IEMs. But as far as cables go, the best one I tried with Athena was the prototype Norne Silvergarde, which I sold to Kerouac.

According to Earsonics, they're struggling to cope with demand for S-EM9 and ES3 and won't be discounting them for BF. That's what they told me anyway.

+1. M5 was one of the best sounding DAPs I tried with EE Athena. Great sound for the money.
