Which Closed headphones for the office? PX200??
I used to use the PX200, but the fit was too fiddley to get a consistent decent bass. Then I tried using IEMS, but nobody could tell I was wearing phones, so they would talk away and assume I was ignoring them, and on top of it, they were too isolating - I would miss the phone ringing...- Tolovana

Stores that carry headphones in Portland OR?
Good Guys out by the airport/205 has a fair amount, mostly Sennheiser, Sony and a couple of Phillips, but you can test with your own player. Stereotypes on NE Broadway & 26th(www.stereotypesaudio.com) carries Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser, and also has a number of headphone amps. Fred's Sound of...- Tolovana

Shure cases
My E3's live in a "Lucy's Predic-a-mints" tin. (Like an altoid tin - but a little larger.) I don't use the wind-up Shure case.- Tolovana

The Cheapest Place on the Net for the Shure E3c
Ecost is currently showing them as in-stock (13 remaining). "Shipping" is free, but handling is 5.95, per usual E-cost methods. I have AT a-900's for home. I already have Sharp MD-33's - are the e3c's a big step up from the Md-33's? (I'm using a Jukebox 3 and a Rio Nitrus as my portable...- Tolovana

DAP fantasy aka query about the Zen Xtra, Nomad 3, and IHP
The NJB3 can be controlled at home with a Harmony or Pronto remote (and maybe others, too). Even though they no longer sell the IR remote, the codes are available. I just got my NJB3, and the menu system, while not as 'simplistic' as the IPOD, was no problem to use at all. Carol- Tolovana

AT support "wings" washable?
I 'popped' them out of my 900's last night - and they're exactly as described above. (and the went right back in) Personally, I'd put a little Dawn (cause it's so good at cutting grease, and is otherwise non-damaging) in a small bowl of warm water, put the pads in, squeeze them a few times to...- Tolovana

thoughts on in ear headphones?

AT support "wings" washable?
From the looks of them, you could buy the larger 'foamies' - the kind that would fit portapros, and slip them over the wings to make a cover. Then you could wash, or throw away the foamies when they got dirty. I'll check to see if that would work when I get home tonight. Carol- Tolovana

Nomad Jukebox 3

Nomad Jukebox 3
Well, I bought it, and there's still 3 left at Ebay, in case anyone else wants one at this price. There are also some that are NIB on Auction from Creative, and they've gone for as low as $251 in recent weeks. So I guess I might have been able to save a little bit more if I'd been willing...- Tolovana

Nomad Jukebox 3
After way too much research here, I've finally decided that out of all of the various portable options out there, I'm buying the Nomad Jukebox 3 as our roadtrip car player. I picked it over the Zen Xtra because of it's ability to record in a portable situation, and the easy upgrade to a 80gb...- Tolovana
