Audio-gd Digital Interface
I have a DI V1 w/PSU but never use it because the built in USB on my NFB-8 sounds better even though it isn't async. Just got a DI V3 a few days ago which I use with bnc to NFB-8 and it is a big step up in sound in every way.- thebathingape

Best Music Player For PC
Check the dsp output section and see if anything is enabled since they changed something there since version 16. I have all dsp's etc disabled. Otherwise there shouldn't be any difference really. Quote:- thebathingape

Best Music Player For PC
I tried jplay.eu briefly and my first impressions are that yes there is a dark background but a loss of detail and dynamics compared to jriver wasapi event mode with no dsp or upsampling. With my DI upsampling to 96khz it sounds best now. Jriver and win7 in default sound output. ...- thebathingape

D5000 Amp Choice
I never liked my Denons with my Darkvoice tube amp at all no matter the tubes. It just gets too muddy and uncontrolled. Too much sound for a closed headphone it seems. I think neutral but powerful amps to keep the bass under control works better with the D-5000. Burson might be a good...- thebathingape

D5000 Amp Choice
I am very happy with my D-5000 on Audio-gd C-2C (which is discontinued). Bass is heavy deep and tight and midrange is airy + not harsh highs. Female voices sound amazing in particular. Bass heavy music is really something of course. Nothing to complain about really. It improved a lot as my...- thebathingape

Review of the Audio-gd DAC-19 DSP & C2 amp - The ACSS connection
Quote: I just got the DI a few days ago and I am experiencing the same with upsampling. Straight with no upsampling the sound was abit to heavy and "sticky" in a way. I actually preferred straight usb input on my NFB-8 since it sounded lighter and more dynamic. Even though I...- thebathingape

It looks like you have done everything correctly. I had a musiland USD1 and never had any issues with getting sound out. Have you tried the RCA outputs? I would try it on another machine, and if that still doesn't work I would contact the seller about it being defective.- thebathingape

If you play music do the graphic equalizer bars under control panel->sound move at all? Is the driver installed in device manager?- thebathingape

Have you checked if the usb output you are using is the default playback device or the playback device used in the program you play music with? Under control panel->sound in windows 7.- thebathingape
