I have a DI V1 w/PSU but never use it because the built in USB on my NFB-8 sounds better even though it isn't async. Just got a DI V3 a few days ago which I use with bnc to NFB-8 and it is a big step up in sound in every way.

Check the dsp output section and see if anything is enabled since they changed something there since version 16. I have all dsp's etc disabled. Otherwise there shouldn't be any difference really.   Quote:

It looks like you have done everything correctly. I had a musiland USD1 and never had any issues with getting sound out.   Have you tried the RCA outputs?   I would try it on another machine, and if that still doesn't work I would contact the seller about it being defective. 

If you play music do the graphic equalizer bars under control panel->sound move at all?   Is the driver installed in device manager?

Have you checked if the usb output you are using is the default playback device or the playback device used in the program you play music with?   Under control panel->sound in windows 7.
