    Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition

Ok, this is my final post on this topic: IMO, it is a mistake to make an adjustment in the first few minutes. At this point the voltage readings can be rather high, say 40 - 60v. When measured at this point, the tubes typically have a bigger difference between themselves. Say 3 tubes read...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

The SE black cloth is semi-transparent, so that you can still see a darker version of the driver below - same as you could with V2.

I'm not in a position to take a photo at the moment, but the SE has dust cloth moved from the pad to the top of the driver grill. I.e. your fingers can touch the cloth, but cannot touch the metal driver grill below the cloth.

I tried adding several el cheapo clip-on ferrites along the length of a stock BNC cable - and it gave only a marginal improvement, at a cost of a much heavier and less practical cable. I would say don't bother with this route. Note that the bigger Wurths are much heavier than the el cheapo...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

I've tried Roon's cross-feed and didn't like it for the same reason I don't like any of Roon's DSP functions: a loss of transparency that results in a slight dulling/flattening of the sound. Some people notice this kind of thing and some don't. One plus of Roon's CF is that you get an infinite...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

I do use the remote to put DAVE into standby overnight, and I avoid ever fully switching DAVE off. Don't try fully switching DAVE off when you're still wearing headphones (or when a loudspeaker amp is still on) else your headphones and ears will get a nasty shock from the considerable switch-off...

    iFi audio iSilencer+ and iDefender+

I think I'll give that idea a miss. Partly because I'm taking a break from such things (and just enjoying listening to music ). And partly because stacking these in tandem puts extra stress on the components' USB sockets - because there is less cable flex to take the strain of...

    iFi audio iSilencer+ and iDefender+

Update to my earlier impressions of the iSilencer+ Following the success of my single iSilencer+, I bought two more. The intention was to have two on my main rig (between NUC and USB thumb drive, and between NUC and IsoRegen). And one for my transportable system between laptop and Micro iDSD...

I didn't spot anything obviously wrong with your Roon settings, but 70% processor usage is very wrong indeed if Roon is not doing any major DSP (PCM convert to DSD in particular). The only other time Roon really hogs the CPU is when it is updating its library when importing a large batch of new...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

I think you'll find, with a bit of practice, that the Search function on this site actually works rather well :) To labour my point in a more general sense for everyone (because it bugs me): The HMS and DAVE threads are very, very long. Really, really long. There are more posts here than there...

Was the Phoenix reclocker in addition to the Endpoint, or instead of? If the former, have you tried completely replacing the Endpoint with the Phoenix? In the past, I've had a microRendu Roon Endpoint, which gave a very worthwhile improvement to my W10 laptop server. And adding the IsoRegen...
