Even though I just picked up the xdp-300r. I too would like to know when USB out will be available. 

Ordered Jan 9th. When I ordered the units were expected to arrive at retailer Jan 16th, but checking current order status it is shipping out today and expected to arrive in Vancouver, Canada by the 19th. 

Got an email late last night from amazon jp. Unit has become available ahead of schedule and should expect for them to ship out soon. :)

    Android's inverted colors seems to have been set to on. Settings>Accessibility>Display>Color Inversion

If you have an external dac that indicates different colors on the LED for different sample rates you can play through digital out micro usb to external dac. If it stays one color no matter what native sample rate the source file is, Android is resampling. 

LOL with my K7XX I'm barely at 9:30-10 in eco mode and IE match off... I can go 12 o'clock if I set IE Match to high sensitivity. Waiting for my Ether C Flow to come in and I'll see where the volume knob is sitting with those...

Should have asked earlier, but does the 300r bypass Android's resampling? I'm guessing the Onkyo app does, but if we use say Tidal/Spotify or other music players will it use native sampling?

XDP-300R is more current model and if you're willing to order from Amazon Japan it can be had for a bit cheaper than what expected MSRP for X5III. I was considering waiting for the X5III, but really wanted digital out through micro usb(coming later as I'm told from Fiio), and couldn't pass up...

Yes, I had to register for a new account on Amazon Japan. My account for USA/Canada didn't work.          Aside from cases, are there any docking stations for the 300R? 

For mobile use, I'd use it as is, but for desktop use at work I'd like to use my external dac/amp that will now stay at my desk. Silly me though, I did a search and read through the first few pages of the results, but didn't bother checking the OP which does state it outputs digital audio...

Can the 300R output audio through usb out to external dac? I'm assuming since it is android based, OTG functions work? Also that being said does 300r bypass android's audio resampling?

How would one stream from Tidal/Spotify with Android based phones since Airplay does not apply?
