XMOS XU208 USB BRIDGES - THE LATEST GEN HAS ARRIVED!
If you using spdif, Some Dac might need receiver chip to convert spdif signal to i2s signal before feed the signal to Dac chip. Some receiver ICs have high jitter (CS841x series are 200ps or greater), some doesn't (AK411x, DIR9001, WM8805 are about 50ps or less). I'm using Leaf Audio Amanero as...- StrikeFreedom

XMOS XU208 USB BRIDGES - THE LATEST GEN HAS ARRIVED!
I just had chanced to listen Weiliang ES9018 with Weiliang XU208 with Crystek CCHD-575 (Unluckily, its 24Mhz oscillator is SCTF) and Leaf Audio Amanero Combo384 with 3 JYEC TCXO. I got second version of Combo384 though. The first version DSDOE pin is around USB connector and has 5 pin I2S...- StrikeFreedom

Best Smartphone for audiophile
Most of the time low output Volume is software fault. Some phone coming with headphone DSP, in order to prevent clipping they reduce the max volume. Try PowerAmp and enable DVC (Direct Volume Control). If the problem fixed, it's software issue.- StrikeFreedom

Music sounds *a lot* better from my internal hard drive than my external hard drive array!
My acquaintance, whom I mentioned, also had that problem. Instead of adjust buffer size in Music player (He using Audirvana), he said USB is not good/fast enough for Music playback so he upgraded to Thunderbolt enclosure to suffer from ground loop. Then, HDD motor started to leak noise to...- StrikeFreedom

If you heard differences when switch hard drive from internal to external even changing brand or model. It could be various reason. First, most of the time, it's placebo. For external enclosure, if you insisted that some **** happened and you heard it, there are several cases that...- StrikeFreedom
