Any difference in sound with the V20 DAC on/off when using the headphones passively?

So it's not an issue of power. Thanks for the info regarding your amp. I guess I'll return them, too bad, I quite like everything else about them. I'm also testing out the Marshall Mid ANC, and they sound nice but the ANC is lacking a bit.

It sounds fine with wired and power on, but no ANC. The signal must be going through the headphone's DAC/amp. I wonder how it sounds without power if it's plugged into an amp.

Is it just me or is the sound quality through wired and power off awful? It almost sounds like I'm under water.

For those of you who are having comfort issues due to the shallow ear pads, you can peel open the ear pads from the back and do the "tissue mod" inside the ear pads so it doesn't fall out, plus it's out of sight for a cleaner look.

This may be a dumb question, but I can't find the info anywhere. Are the earpads easy to remove and re-attach? 

Does anyone have a good method of cleaning underneath the earpads? Love these headphones, but I facepalm every time I think about Ultrasone's decision to make the earpads non-removable.

Has anyone tried the ED8 out of the Arcam rPac or a Calyx Coffee? I'm looking for a compact USB powered DAC/amp to use with my Macbook when I'm on the road. I'm also thinking about the Centrance Dacport, but I do like the additional RCA output on the rPac and Coffee.

Looked around the internet and found this. Turns out Dre doesn't use M50s, but he doesn't use Beats either!  

I don't really care for Beats headphones, but am I the only one that feels that this pic looks incredibly photoshopped?

I'll most likely be able to make it. If I do, I'll bring my Pro900 and Monster Coppers. Unfortunately I won't have a source as I use a soundcard. If I can find my old Cowon S9, I'll bring that too.
