    National Hearing Protection Month

I'm a piano technician and wear earplugs (Ear Peace) for most of the piano tuning process. Only at the end for the fine tuning pass do I remove them. People think it's odd that I wear ear plugs, but hitting every note 10-20 times, often at forte or above, adds up. I need to protect my money makers!

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

There have been numerous comments about Atlas being heavy and prone to falling out of ears. Both points have merit. Weirdly, though, when using other iems, which are all much lighter weight, I feel something's lacking - it's kind of like...being naked. The heft of Atlas, for me, is an odd...

They're kind of a pain to get in the States, too.

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

In my respectful opinion, you're seeking far too many specifics. I concede that the Atlas' have a funny shape. However, I also believe that pursuing high end headphone rigs requires nuanced compromises. Maybe you need some custom tips. Chasing the dragon tip may just be frustrating. These IEMs...

Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements

Treble: I've found Mojo to be a nice companion to Elex. It's the only DAC I've used with Elex, but I also had iFi Pro iCan for a while. In terms of treble, the iCan+Mojo vs. Mojo solo was, at most, minimal. I used both Elex cables with the iCan and only heard a little more soundstage and clarity.

ifI iCan Pro - Impressions & Discussion

I had 2QUTE which was only 3V. I never had an issue with that. I even got in touch with iFi to see if it was ok. They said that the amp can handle something way more than 3V (like 15V or something, but I don't recall the exact number). But just try all three and see what you like best.

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

I'm happy with Chord Mojo. Many people did not like it with Vega, so I was a little worried. So far, I have not found it to be muddy or too bass heavy.

Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements

Oh those Seattle summers are spectacular. How do you like the Onkyo with the Elex? I'm contemplating going full portable to minimize my gear.

Is anyone using Elex with a DAP more than with a desktop system? If so, which DAPs and what are your thoughts on the pairings?

ifI iCan Pro - Impressions & Discussion

All three headphones that I use(d) with this benefited noticeably from high gain: Grado PS1000, Senn HD600, and Focal Elex, which are technically diverse in their power requirements. I'm postulating that headphones generally perform best with more power, assuming that the power is good and...

Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements

Can we talk about the cable? I think it's rad. I'm not a cable junky, but the stock cables seem tastefully made and to be good quality. How do they rank in other people's opinions? I've only used SE. What I find interesting is that it's (mostly) only microphonic north of the splitter. That's...

Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements

I have the HD600 and thus far the Elex seems better in every way. There's new toy syndrome in force here, but basically I find the Elex to be more fun, refined, and detailed. Who knows how I'll feel in a month or six. Right now though, I'm pleased.

    Grado Fan Club!

Hey everyone. I have a nice pair of PS1000's (non-e) for sale here on Head-Fi. Great headphones, I just don't do much over-ear listening anymore. Thought I'd let the fan club know! Edit: I just read the above posts about not selling the PS1000's. I wish I had all your patience! I do hope these...

    PS1000 Impressions Thread

Anyone interested in a pair of PS1000's? I'm too mobile to use over-ears. They are in great condition. I'll get some photos if there is interest.
