Polishing the Sennheiser Amperior. A Finished Work Log. PIC Heavy

Just an update, the polished aluminum hasn't dulled or anything. I haven't treated them with anything since polishing, or even bothered cleaning them and they are still very shiny. The alloy in these headphones seems to be very oxidation resistant.

It would work. You do have to sand through to the bare aluminum first. If you do it try to make the edges where you don't sand as clean as possible because the edges will stand out more with blue.

    Headphone Sightings 2

My office max used to stock a very nice selection of Audio Technica headphones with a display with and 3.5mm audio input plus it had a very clean sounding amp in the display. I wish I would have been around when they took it down and replaced them with an assortment the worst headphones known to...

Sennheiser amperior or vmoda m80 for metal?

I am glad you are liking them. I just got mine in the other day and really like them too. I don't find the lyrics hard to understand but everyone hears a little differently. Do yourself a favor and stay away from 5 Finger Death Punch with these headphones, I am not a fan myself but a good friend...

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

Quote: I think it would be easy enough to use a HD 25 Cable. As for the pads it might be worth calling up Senn and getting an extra pair or two in advance. If you can't I think Velour HD 25 pads are going to be readily available for quite awhile.

Polishing the Sennheiser Amperior. A Finished Work Log. PIC Heavy

Thanks a lot :) I had actually pictured doing it differently in my mind but once I started I realized that my first plans weren't going to work.  I see in the Amperior thread that you just got yours. I never believed in burn in before my Amperior but the change in sound between the first 5...

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

Quote: The right one should just take a wiggle and a tug. Grab the connector not the cord and give it a firm pull.  The right one on mine was really in there too but has become easier to remove.   Now taking the drivers out of the cups the first time was not as easy as the videos made...

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

I though I would share this with the Amperior lovers. I decided my Amperior were too subtle so I decided to make mine shiny. Work Log in Link Below.  http://www.head-fi.org/t/676825/polishing-the-sennheiser-amperior-a-finished-work-log-pic-heavy       One of a kind, easy, and...

Quote: I second that, hd 600 and a half decent and a pretty rockin sound card.   People have too much money and not enough brains... I sort of wish I had that problem too, 1 out of the two just doesn't cut it.

I am aware of this, having done this to guns before.  They take a bit of upkeep but it is worth it to have something one of a kind.   IMHO the Amperior in stock form aren't the prettiest. Time to head to the hardware store for more sanding sponge :D

A few pics of the First of the two cups.     Now it starts to get real. The Tape is more of a fail safe than a final sanding point. Past the point of no return on the first cup. Fully polished cup next to the stock one. Shiny is an understatement.     ...

Polishing the Sennheiser Amperior. A Finished Work Log. PIC Heavy

Since the Moment I looked at the Sennheiser Amperior I couldn't help but think how awesome it would be to have a pair polished to a mirror shine. I think I will leave the recessed parts anodized (I have the silver version). I'm not sure if I will polish the aluminum caps that hold the earcup...

Review by 'Squeedly' on item 'Monster iSport Strive Athletic Earphone'

I think these would be the be all end all inexpensive workout headphone if they came with a few more ear pieces. I couldn't find a set of ear pieces that didn't cause me significant pain and stay in place, but man do they stay in place.   Running, lifting and headbanging have no affect on...

    First Pair of Headphones

Quote: I hear good things about the M50's. As for the HD25's you can get a refurbished Sennheiser Amperior for under $140 and the general consensus is they are an upgrade in every way to the HD25-1 II. vminnovations.com carries the refurbs, the pair I got from them are flawless. I'm not...
