iFi audio NEO iDSD - The Performance Edition is here! (INFO: Post 837, Page 56)
Performance edition HW is identical except for the accessories. You can download the latest firmware from the ifi site to access filters on the unit. Maybe try an xpower upgrade for the power supply.- spookanide

iFi audio NEO iDSD - The Performance Edition is here! (INFO: Post 837, Page 56)
This guy made a series of comparisons of the chord qute. I don't remember exactly all the details, also see the reply below mine about it. Keep in mind that the qute series only offer a single RCA output and only wired digital inputs. The idsd gets you a pre-amp and XLR in addition. I've...- spookanide

As a user you can't expect this to be a major problem if the manufacturer allows the user keep the screen running on high brightness non-stop. Also if the screen is prone to problems, maybe choose a different technology or no screen at all.- spookanide

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
I'd go for a burrbrown based DAC combined with an ifi iCAN SE. I love that little amp and they can be had for cheap 2nd hand.- spookanide

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
I'm a V200 owner myself and the presentation is pretty horseshoe shaped overall where a burson soloist would be paint more of a stage in front of the listener like speakers (exaggerating a little here to give you an idea). The v200 design is from the same era as the v280, so that might give you...- spookanide

iFi audio NEO iDSD - The Performance Edition is here! (INFO: Post 837, Page 56)
I can't be bothered to return the unit over a bit of burn-in tbh Back to filters. I get the feeling the bit perfect filter mode allows for a bit more sense of space/reverberation and a more forward sound, but the imaging precision gets slightly more smudged (compared to minimum phase for...- spookanide

The setting probably went to the default of low brightness. They got burn in feedback I'm willing to guess. I left mine on high for too long and now it's bad. The new setting of 'high' brightness functions a little different now to mitigate that.- spookanide

Are you saying the first firmware sounded like the new filter setting of 'bit perfect' or a general bit perfect DAC sound? I'm still a bit confused as to what you mean.- spookanide

Could you elaborate a bit more on this? I could interpret it in multiple ways, so please explain.- spookanide

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
Been eyeing that for a while too. I actually used an ifi ican SE before this, was amazing but was certainly not the final word in refinement and pulling apart the mids. Still an amazingly capable little thing that I am not planning on selling. For those not looking for bass quantity or spending...- spookanide

I know what you mean and it's just not possible. The only options are what I described. The power button currently has no additionaluse for single or double taps, so they could put this function on there perhaps.- spookanide

You can only switch the back outputs to be variable or fixed level, but you can't turn the volume without affecting the front headphone out. No practical way to switch.- spookanide

Kind of sad to see my display is suffering from burn-in already after a few months of use. If you have the neo idsd, make sure to set the display mode to OFF. I can clearly see burnt pixels being dim on mine as I left a setting for too long (such as my windows sample rate) I like to check what...- spookanide

Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp
Yup, found that out myself now actually. I built a 4pin xlr balanced adapter and used one channel from either output. It is NOT meant to be used that way.- spookanide
