Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit

Yes, I think the Mimby would be the way to go. The Mimby and Bimby are supposed to sound almost identical and for the cost of upgrading the Bimby you could just buy the newer version of the Mimby. This is of course making a couple of assumptions; that the next Bimby upgrade will be $250 like the...

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit

I run my Mimby from a Raspberry PI with a Hifiberry Digi + Pro card via coax. Sounds excellent and is an significant improvement compared to USB. The price is roughly the same as the F-1, I think it was close to $200 for the whole setup including an Ifi power supply and a case for the Pi.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I like switching between my HD650 and M1060. I think they both have a place in a collection and are complements to each other. Their presentations are similar but both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I would worry taking the foam out would allow dust and particles on to the membrane long term which could cause damage or negatively effect sound quality. The foam acts as both a dampener and a dust filter. I think a few people earlier in this thread tried it and thought removing the foam...

Agreed. All you have to lose is the price of shipping. You have thirty days to make up your mind. If sound stage is the biggest issue with the HD650, the M1060 trumps them in sound stage and imaging in my opinion.

I like the M1060 for gaming best out of the three. It has a very decent sound stage and their bass response is extremely immersive. They are also amazing for localizing sound and are quite detailed. I was shocked how good they are for gaming, I wasn't expecting much in that regard when I first...

No cracks for me either. I have had my V1 since launch. They have been perfect...no cracks, cutouts, or headband issues.

I have the K7XX also and agree with you. The stock M1060 is way better. There is no comparison. I'm pretty sure sure I am going to sell my K7XX soon. I am not listening to them at all now.

I at one point enjoyed his reviews, now I find watching them to be a frustrating experience. Just when you think he is getting to some useful info things go off the rails and he starts jumping around through 3 second snippets of him listening to music and making weird sounds of enjoyment.

When I took my stock pads off to install the Vegans I was expecting to see a cloth cover also. Mine looked exactly like the picture above. I thought I had taken the cover off with the pad. Upon further inspection there was no cover over the driver, it was all just a part of the stock pad...

Yes, you should give the Modi Mutibit atleast 4 hours to warm up before giving up on it completely. Mine smoothed out quite a bit over the first few days of being left on.

Listening to Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here "Welcome to the Machine" for the first time on the M1060 since I got them more than 2 weeks ago. Not sure what took me so long to listen to this track, normally I use this one to test out new headphones. The bouncing right-left bass sounds amazing on...
