The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Yup. Kinda out of the hobby right now, enjoying music with my HD800 as my only headphone and still making SDRs for whoever asks :beerchug:- Sorrodje

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
Considering how Hi End stuff prices are currently rocketting, I'm afraid Sennheiser would ask a lot of money for that.- Sorrodje

@babyoh : if you're in EU, I suggest you to contact Inexxon.de . Or maybe Mjolnir audio if you're outside EU. Both are reputable and aknowledged guyz.- Sorrodje

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
nope. Not normal. Mine is dead silent. The best would be to test the headphone from a Stax amp to see if the issue is due to the amplifier or your headphone itself.- Sorrodje

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
Congrats @Ali-Pacha . There's a peak around 10khz. Once fixed by EQ, all the harshness we can feel sometimes is gone. Surely bass is on the light side but it's more a matter of impact than a real lack of bass in my humble opinion. I even listen to some EDM with my own HE60 and it's fine. But...- Sorrodje

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
HE60 and HE90 plugs are different indeed. - the Baby Orpheus is much lighter that the HD6.. series and clamps less. Consequently it disappears much more once on your head. - Different beast compared to 009 and ESP950. the HE60 sounds a tad more romantic than the Stax with less forward much...- Sorrodje

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
Actually the only option is to put a Stax cable and the added resistor. I think there're very few aftermarket Stax compatible plugs and they're bad from what I remember . So the only valuable mod is to solder a whole Stax cable and add the resistor in the cup. that's what Inexxon.de made for...- Sorrodje

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
I ran my own HE60 from a SRM-T1 (I had a DIY adaptator HE60 to Stax plug) and the result was decent to my ears. Surely it's not up to BHSE/HE60 level but still decent. modding the HE60 implies to put a resistor in the cable and a stax plug. in my opinion it's easier to use an adaptator...- Sorrodje

DNA Stratus 2A3 amplifier - first impressions
I'm usually kinda reluctant to over-emphasize the merits of so called "upgrades" which are too often mere overpriced placebos in my opinion but in that case, i definitely think the gap is quite significant. Significant enough to cure definitely my upgraditis once for all. The only move I'd...- Sorrodje

DNA Stratus 2A3 amplifier - first impressions
Definitely agree but considering the upgrades make the Stratus leading toward more neutrality and reference sound i see how some people could be disappointed to loose a good chunck of tube bloominess. In my humble opinion. I'm personally extremely happy with this upgrade honestly.- Sorrodje

ok. I do think upgrades make a pretty significant difference and I don't think the last iteration of the Stratus sounds so bloomy anymore.- Sorrodje
