Do you know if the preamp output bypasses the EL84 tubes and only use the ECC82 tubes? I'm currently enjoying this amp as a preamp in my chain and I want to tube roll, so if I only need to roll the ECC82 tubes that would be nice on my wallet.

I got a new OTL headphone amp that has RCA preamp outputs. It's not line level as the volume knob changes the volume. I want to make sure the voltage from the preamp output doesn't damage my connecting amplifier, and I think that phrasing in the manual might be related to stepping down the voltage?

You can easily rule out whether it's physical ear pad design causing the fatigue by just wearing them without playing any music for a while
