    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Thanks Joel, that helps ! Also many thanks Rob, mine have the texture there, with very clean edges, so it looks like they're genuine. Can't get the focus on the phone to showcase that though. The sound is intoxicating and indeed can hear every little detail, and I hate to think I have to...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Guys, is there anyone in London with verified genuine IE800 I can compare mine with ? I bought mine from CEX and the box verifies as authentic, but want to make sure.   As you know CEX sells used gear, and the box was open, the IEM sounds amazing but I have my reservations after auditioning...

    Hotrodding the X-Fi: A Layman's Guide (No 56k)

Hi all !   After horrible soldering jobs and 3 cards later I can atest that it should not be a beginners soldering venture. It's hard , if not impossible to do for a novice in soldering.    Saying all that I soldered one Xtrememusic wrong, The left channel was working, beautifully but on...

    Hotrodding the X-Fi: A Layman's Guide (No 56k)

Hi I was thinking of getting the audio straight from dac, and coupling the output outside of the card (SB Elite pro 0550). Can anybody tell me where I can get the closest signal from DAC excluding soldering straight from dac itself ? As in soldering to a resistor or a cap. I'm worried I...

Review of the Little-Dot MKIII Tube Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp

Call me strange but I have swapped the source from the inputs to the outputs and my MK III sounds ....better. Much better. I don't know why but it just sounds more detailed and subtle. More punch as well. I don't know why that is but now I'm always "putting it wrong" so I would get better...

    Hotrodding the X-Fi: A Layman's Guide (No 56k)

I must say that modding is time consuming... Now, I finally added that misplaced capacitor of mine and the impressions are...not exciting. The card sounds somewhat better than the onboard sound, but stock Elite pro did anyway. There is high noise floor like on my ALC888 I didn't have this...
