This sounds like the exact problem I have.  I powered down the yggy and pulled all the input cables to move it to a new rack.  Powered it up 10 minutes later and everything worked fine except for the USB input.  My windows 7 PC would give me a message saying usb device not recognized and...

I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point.  If you don't hear a clear difference after sending audio to your yggy for a week then comparing to your previous reference, then send it back,     I wasn't impressed during the first 3 days.  Sure the yggy showed some promise during that time...

Well of course you don't "need" balanced cables to use this amp.  You will just run standard RCA (phono) interconnects from your Modi to the LC.  The RCA's are single ended, but the LC converts the signal for use with the Balanced headphone outs.  The two balanced outs are the common 4-pin XLR...
