    Hifiman HE400se

Even better at less money! I guess I did not google hard enough. I don't know what the 1540 pads will do to the sound but I'm gonna find out!. :relaxed: edit: just ordered a set of factory rings from the hifiman webstore...

    Hifiman HE400se

Hifiman newb here. Just received a set of 400se yesterday. A steal at $129. They came with a 1m rubbery cable in a separate padded envelope taped to the box so I haven't even tried the notorious memory wire cable. Curious about pad rolling. I have a set of Shure 1540 alcantara pads fitted...

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

The PortaPro headband is less than 0.5" wide, these would be problematic. I wonder if the pads for a Senn PX100-ii would work...

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

Looking for a PortaPro headband cushion suggestion. I just acquired a set with the boom mic and added a usb adapter so now I can have a high fidelity business communication headset for work. I can listen to long boring meetings and have good quality music playback at the same time. Blows any...

None of the after market G pads have the same dimensioning or material compliance as the oem Grado pads. They are shallow and sit the driver much closer to the ear. Consequently they do not sound the same. There is no way to determine if you like the oem Grado G pads on SR line headphones...

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

Just picked up a set of the Koss/Retrospekt P/21 headphones. My sole intent was to scavenge the headband. But I did have to see how sounded...if this were 1979 and they had come bundled with a Walkman there would have been no complaints, then, for their intended use. As a throwback being sold...

    AKG K240 Sextett--Grado'd AKG?

No real change in LF. I am not a bass head but I consider these to be somewhat bass light (as compared to Senn HD650, various Grado and Koss). But I was only listening from my preamp last night (Anthem Pre2L, tube out on the headphone jack). I expect that on my desktop (Liquid Spark with APO...

    AKG K240 Sextett--Grado'd AKG?

I hope this shows what you are looking for. I am not posting head shots! :dt880smile: They were a minor pita to mount but I managed to not damage the surround or the material. They are mildly oval but once installed are circular. Do the Brainwavz retain a more oval shape?

I've got a track list of songs I have used for years to eval speakers, headphones, other equipment changes. It's gone through some additions and subtractions over the past 20 years. That cut of "A Night in Tunsia" has always been on it and always will.

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

I've read what I would consider unreliable reviews of the Retrospeckt cans that praise the drivers. One would hope they wouldn't be utter shitte at the retail selling price. Are they as bad as what comes on the Parts Express headband? Really on the fence about picking up a set of $30 cans...

Ever since I got my SR225x I've been a bit pad mad. My prior experiments with my SR80e included Senn HD414 (hole cut and solid), Geekria hole cut S pad (their version of comfies?), oem L pads, and the venerable Yaxi, which, while not unappealing sonically, is most notable because you can get...
